Best View of the Mountains - Valley
Good Location Scenery for taking the best snaps. The nice views along the Military Highway are worth on the route from Tbilisi to Russian Border. Few good view points on the way. But not worth on a rainy day. If enough time, try to stay 1 day at Gudauri and spend time to get the best views, rafting on the river, horse rides, hot snacks on way, taste honey, etc

Great Mountain Views and Cool Monument
The mountain views from here are great. You can even see a ruined castle on the opposite side of the valley below the Friendship Monument. The mosaics on the monument are cool too. There may not be a lot of Russian-Georgian friendship right now but this is still an excellent place to stop.

    Monument With Breathtaking Panorama
The monument is not in a good shape, but the panorama is the most beautiful in Georgia. There is a platform to view the majestic mountains all around. The view is breathtaking. A lot of opportunities to take pictures and videos. It's a stopover place between Tbilisi and Kazbegi. There are a lot of food vendors there who charge exorbitantly, but you can always bargain. There is one toilet at this place where there is no running water. So be prepared before visiting it. Driving/Hiring a full day cab is the best option to visit this place.

Preposterous premise as there was never a Russian Georgian friendship but only ever a murderous soul-destroying occupation, but nevertheless a stunning construction in a beautiful setting.
I love ceramics and mosaics, if you do too, this site is absolutely worth the stop. The views alone merit a stop but the actual structure is gorgeous too.

Very very impressive Soviet monument with great views of the mountains! I loved it! Visited it on the way to Kazbegi from Tbilisi, it is a popular stopover on such daytours. The place was full of street vendors however their prices were very high. Weather was bad and snow was falling in end of September. However melting on the way to the ground so it felt like rain. Freezing but beautiful!

I was happy to visit the Friendship monument during December 2019. The Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument or Treaty of Georgievsk Monument is a monument built in 1983 to celebrate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and the ongoing friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia. There is a lot of history to depict on the drawings, the visit was nice as we had a guide to explain. The panoramic view around the monument is breath taking especially if you love mountains.

The monument was designed of murals and it's good to take pictures. What we liked most is the mountainous region as the background. Paragliding activity is readily available here.

We most have spent a good hour and a half there, just soaking in the stunning mountain views in the background. Our amazing tour guide Alex also gave us the amazing story behind this beautiful and fascinating huge art work! An absolute must do while on your way to Kazbegi!!

On the way to Tbilisi from Kazbegi, I have visited this place. It is basically a circle shape monument on highway. But views from here are amazing. You can take nice photographs here.
