The cemetery is located on the military highway near the Jvari pass and you will pass it on your way north from Gudairi to Stepantsmida. It contains the remains of the German prisoners of war who worked on the military road.

It is not really a tourist attraction and not worth driving to unless you have somebody close buried there. However, you can make a short stop for a few photos and spent a solemn moment reflecting on the madness of those years if it falls on your way.

What a lonely spot to be buried... far from home!
These are the graves of German P.O.W's that died in the area after WW2. They were used to build the avalanche protection tunnels on the military road.

I agree, it is not a spot you would extra drive to. Going to the north you come by and it does not harm to stop by for a few minutes and pay this place a visit. If you are "open" it allows you to let your mind flow and think how far the madnes went that time.
I absolutely did not regret the short stopover - even if it is small and not "spectacular"; but thats not the intention anyways.

The place is rather neglected and not well kept. It importance is the story of German prisoners who worked on the military road as prisoners.
