We were at the Aeronauticum on a Saturday afternoon, the number of visitors was limited, so a relaxed visit was possible.
Outside there are numerous old airplanes to visit, unfortunately only from the outside, or one or two exhibits can also be viewed from the inside in the presence of museum staff, but when the time is right remains the secret of the museum or you have to be unexpectedly lucky.
Inside the museum we found a sign that you can visit the procedural trainer there on Tuesdays by the hour. Certainly to make sure there are even fewer visitors during the week.
The rest of the exhibition in the building is well designed and interesting.
To this day, "carton model making for everyone" is still offered. We have assumed that "everyone" really addresses all age groups. However, one of the staff there was of the opinion that this was only for children - maybe you should declare it on the homepage.
Conclusion: the entrance fee of 12,-- € for adults is clearly too high for what is offered, a maximum of half would be appropriate for this museum in our view.

A nice opportunity for an afternoon visit. A lot of history about German naval aviation as well as a static section with a wide collection of aircraft. Are you on your way to Cuxhafen? A good reason to stop here.

You won't expect there is such a place which have a nice exhibition of legacy aircraft. The museum was not as grand as in other big cities. If you are interested in some old aircraft, you won't be disappointed.

As the title says ... do not waste your money. In this day and age of electronics, the issue should have been solved. Being with a native German, the time and entry fee was helped. The outside exhibits were filthy. The sitting outside was dirty.

The Aeronauticum is a German marine aircraft and airship museum that has been showing interesting exhibits indoors and outdoors since 1997. It is owned and operated by an independent association in which many members work on a voluntary basis. It is astonishing what could be realized through a lot of personal initiative. About 30,000 visitors can see it for themselves every year. Even if not all exhibits are in top condition outside, a visit is worthwhile for all aviation enthusiasts.

I stopped by today after working on the base at Nordholz this week. The museum is easy to find, located right next to the base entrance. Inside is dedicated mostly to zeppelins, including the Hindenburg. Very interesting, and not the kind of displays that we see much in the US. Outside is an eclectic collection of aircraft, including helicopters. Most will be familiar to us aviation buffs, but include some that we don't see often such as the SU-22, Pembroke, etc. Some have steps available so you can check out the cockpit. One of the MI-8 helos is open too so you can go inside to see the cockpit. Well worth the visit if you're in the area. Donate a little cash to them too! There's a gift shop inside that has books, shirts, kid stuff, and military patches and pins.

It's worth a look if you're interested in aviation or if you don't know where to go because of the weather. It's a shame that you're not allowed to board any other aircraft except for a helicopter (but only the tail).
