- Mayookh SKolkata (Calcutta), India5 contributionsKanha - the Jungle MarbleVisited Kanha during 23-25 Dec 2023 with family. Kanha is awesome. We stayed at MPT Resort Mukki Gate. Having a safari in Mukki Gate was like driving trhough a zoo. WE spotted Tiger and Bear. Our transport ( from Nagpur to Kanha and Kanha to Pench and Safaris ) were arranged by TravelGleam Wild (9958993316 , 9899954675). Nice service. Thank you for making the trip memorable.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 13, 2024
- VISHAL R17 contributionsBeautiful meadowsKanha Tiger Reserve in Central India in the state of Madhya Pradesh is one of the evergreen forests, has a beautiful mixed habitat of dense jungle and open grasslands and can be accessed through different gates. It is a must visit for wildlife lovers as it has very good density of predators, birds and other wild animals. On our wildlife tour to Kanha in January 2024, our booking team, TravelGleam Wild (9958993316 , 9899954675) assisted us with all the bookings and we did 5-6 safaris including a night safari and had multiple tiger sightings. The highlight of the trip was a mating pair (Pattewala, male tiger and MV3, female tiger) Thanks TravelGleam Wild and the team for hassle free bookings, and it was a memorable trip.Visited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 7, 2024
- deborah1518Goleta, California64 contributionsAmazing Wildlife ViewingWe highly recommend Kanha National Park. Our outstanding guide and driver: Naren and Kamel, used their amazing listening and visual skills to find numerous breathtaking tiger sightings, including a striking male tiger interacting with two cubs, and a beautiful tigress drinking slowly at a small lake. We also saw a leopard in the forest and then on the road for a considerable distance (and we were the only jeep there), as well as three golden jackals, dozens of barasingha deer, playful langur monkeys, Indian guar, and so much more. On our walking safari, we appreciated viewing, up-close, the Ornamental tree trunk spider, python skin, the Indian Paradise flycatcher and the beauty of the surroundings. - Sanni DohnDenmark8 contributionsA dream of seeing tiger ind the wild came trueKanha National Park is an amazing place with wonderful beautiful nature and lots of different animals. The dream of seeing wild tigers was fulfilled. On 6 safari trips in February we saw 6 tigers including Neelam with her 3 cubs! And a sleeping leopard! The most skilled driver Ravi and park guide Keeran tracked them down for us. We felt happy and very lucky. - SweetraUnited States290 contributionsLots of Driving to Get to a ZoneThis park is very large and there’s only one gate to enter. This means everyone gathers at least 15 minutes before the gate opens which means for some, you’re leaving 45 minutes before you even enter the park. Once you enter, there’s a good 15-30 minutes to get to your designated zone. There may be a few animas along the way but most people want the elusive tiger. I don’t know if it was our driver and guide at each safari or if it was the size of the park but I felt that there was a lot of sitting around and waiting at different parts of the park. The best times were when we knew where a sighting had happened in the morning so we were able to find the tiger again. I preferred the other park more, which I’ll review.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 21, 2024

If you have ever been on Safari in Africa the Indian experience in Kanha is not in any way comparable.
The park is huge and divided into 3 distinct areas. It has, rightly, very strict rules to protect the flora and fauna which is admirable but it is not good from photographers' perspectives. The forest is well managed and the tracks maintained well with places to use a bathroom. There are however, too many people in too many vehicles all in pursuit of elusive animals.
They allowed 30 vehicles in at dawn, from the gate we were at (Mukki), they are strictly controlled with GPS trackers, they cannot go off the paths, they cannot speed and have to be out by 11.30. There is a mass of paperwork to be completed before your guide and the forestry wildlife personnel, who accompanied you, were allowed to leave the entrance. The afternoon drive starts at 3pm and we had to be out by dusk at 5.45.
We were lucky and did see a fleeting glimpse of a tiger over 300m away on our first day but had to wait for another 4 days to really see a magnificent tiger but again at a difficult distance even with 400 mm lens and poor light. Our guide was very clever where he put our vehicle, but with 30 vehicles revving their engines and moving about with their occupants all shouting "tiger tiger" at the top of their voices, it is no wonder the poor animals only allow us fleeting glimpses.
However, although there is a very long list of animals who live or pass through Kanha. We saw very few animals. Monkeys and red deer were plentiful with a few sightings of swamp deer and wild boar. The guides were good at spotting birds and we did see some lovely owls and kingfishers.
It is not cheap to go into the park and there are no game drives on Wednesday afternoons. It was very cold in the early mornings and evenings, you need warm clothes and hats and gloves. I would not recommend visiting in November. The vegetation is still dense and green and the light was poor on 4 of the 5 days we were there.
After several safari's in Africa we were disappointed and had expected quite a different experience to the one we had.

Overall amazing experience, mesmerizing jungle, second to none , comparable to corbett with plenty of Animals as well as birds.
Even with kids we were able to spot tigers, we saw almost all kinds of animals including panther.
TravelGleam Wild (9958993316 , 9899954675) were very professional right from the beginning and they provided us with seamless services for safari, mentioning there number also,As your Driver and guide matters the most during a jungle safari.
We did 4 morning safari, you can spot a tiger anytime in a jungle a however the best time to see the Big cat is early morning 5 to 7 ,after 7 your chances of spotting one gets thin specially during Summers.
it is a life time experience, specially if you get to see the tiger upclose.
The forest is beautiful- green even in summer. Lovely place. The museum is also Great for kids ,i will certainly plan again during winters this time.

The Kanha National Park is spread across the area of 940 sq km in the Maikal chain of hills. By bringing up the buffer and core zone all together, the Kanha Tiger Reserve has the total area of 1945 sq km. Nearest railway station and airport is Jabalpur about 150km and take around 3 hrs by road.
The landscapes and the surrounding luxurious meadows along with the wooded strands and the dense maroons of forests offer magnanimous sightseeing experiences for the nature lovers. Making the land more beautiful and adorable, the crystal clear streams amidst the dense jungle cleanses the surroundings and makes the wildlife unrivalled.
The Kanha National Park is the ideal home for wide ranges of wild creatures; right from the mighty tigers to the most populated Barasingha , known as ‘Jewel of Kanha, spotted dear, bears, leopard, Baison , Blackbuck and countless species of plants, birds, reptiles and insects. Barasingha are found only in Kanha in Asia.
Kanha has four safari zones, Kanha, Kisli, Mukki and Sarhi. All the four zones are accessible only from Khatia gate and Mukki is the farthest. So to cover Mukki as well as Kanha zone, it’s better to take morning safari when one can get more time to explore. MP Tourism Baghira resort, Mocha is the best accommodation close to Khatia gate.

It's a good place to rejuvenate and spend time with friends and family.

Kanha is a beautiful forest and I love coming here. This is our 3rd visit and 10th safari at kanha. I have given this rating not to the forest but for the GUIDE MR YADAV. He is a man of few words but only with guests. He kept on talking with the driver..He had poor judgements and seemed to talkative with other drivers and guide as well but less about sightings and more jokes.he did not have the sense of sighting or the interest of showing us anything. He did not have any keen interest neither did he give us any information about the forest flora and fauna.
Inspire of knowing the female tigress Naina and her cubs will be seen (where she had hunted for a bison) and there will be movement he kept wasting time here n there. My husband spotted a monitor lizard (ghotak) but d driver didn’t notice it..as he was busy talking and sitting with his black sun glasses. He only showed us peacocks and Barasingha which were anyways very evidently seen
We have never been disappointed with Kanha if we had a tiger sighting or No but this time the guide disappointed us terribly with his attitude.
Safari Date 2nd June 2022 Thursday morning safari
Kanha zone gypsy No 15

i visited Tadoba, Kanha (Mukki Gate) and Bandhavgarh. I have the most enjoyable experience at Kanha and hope to return to it in future.
Mukki zone is considered the best zone for now. To start of, the Sal forest scene at Kanha reminds me a lot of some Zambia parks. The photos turn out amazing with the evergreen forest backdrop, similar but not identical to shots taken at winterthorn forest. I also had the best quality tiger sighting in Kanha, a mother with two cubs, in the early morning hours, though that experience is admittedly partly due to luck. Nevertheless, this is one of the reasons why this park left me with the best memories.
I also made a visit to Khapa buffer zone, as the core zone is closed on Wed afternoon. Wildlife is more sparse here, though there are a lot of barking deers. we heard some alarm calls, but were unsuccessful in locating the tiger.
Kanha is also the park to spot barasingha (swamp deer), and the MP forest department is in the process of relocating some of them to Bandhavgarh.
The drivers/guides assigned to me on my safaris at Kanha are good. Communication is not an issue as their command of English is generally acceptable. I am happy with their dedication and conscientiousness in ensuring i have the best experience

Kanha is a good place for wildlife safari. This is a vast jungle in which 20% has been allowed for tourist jungle safari. Safari can be done on Govt organised Gypsy. Prior booking of gypsy is required to be done. Booking before a month or two is required. Summers are good for sighting big cats as they would wander near water bodies. The national park is closed during monsoon.
