When you go from Dehradun which is at distance of 45 kms from Paonta Sahib, from the riverbridge you can see the gurudwara, which in itself is mesmerizing. Once ener into the gurudwara, you are welcomed with a positive vibe, calm and peace in mind. Visit the main structure and the whole complex. A revered shrine of the Sikh religion, situated astride Yamuna River in Paonta Sahib, where the Tenth Master Guru Gobind Singh rested and meditated for about three years. The legend is that the gushing waters of Yamuna River made lots of noise and disturbed the Guru's meditation. The Guru ordered it to be Calm and the portion of the River flows calmly where the Gurudwara is situated. Entrance of the Gurudwara has several boutiques selling souvenirs of Sikh religion. After entering, the Shoe House is located where one can deposit one's shoes as one has to enter bare feet and head covered. On the right is the place where one can buy "Prasad" for offering which subsequently is distributed to the pilgrims visiting the place. Shri Guru Granth Sahib is kept on a high pedestal in the Hall where one pays one's obeisance. There is "Langar Hall" on the LHS of the Hall which serves hot meal to one and all 24X7. There are rooms to stay for those who wish to stay overnight. Gurudwara Sahib provides solace, tranquility and peace of mind.…
