Bhimalkali mata temple is at Sarahan (2165 metres above sea level), we had Darshan as well as Prasad in temple. Darshan is free, but Prasad is paid (Rs.70 per plate), very nominal charges, prepared by temple people, but honestly very hygienic and tasty. I would suggest to have lunch here rather than eating at any road side restaurants.

Shimla has plenty of religious places, but the Bhimkali temple is one of its kind and such architecture is not found anywhere in Himachal. The temple is in Sarahan, which is around 155 km from Shimla.
It is not allowed to carry cameras, phones,s and even leather items inside the main courtyard of the temple. They provide a locker facility to keep your belongings. The temple is quite huge and the main idol of Bhimkali Devi is kept in the topmost courtyard.
Second door is made of wood but its carved with silver foil. Once you cross this door, that is the last point till where cameras are allowed, which needs to be kept in the provided lockers

Sri Bhimakali Temple is one of the main attractions of Sarahan. It is an ancient temple which is not only religiously important but also boasts of stunning architecture and intricate wooden artwork. The temple stands tall amongst the quaint surroundings of Sarahan overlooking the Shrikhand range. The temple premises has its own boarding and lodging facilities which are cheap, affordable and hygenic. The campus also has another small temple of God Narsinh. Worth a visit if you love art and architecture of India.

Sri Bhimakali Temple is the main attraction of Sarahan. It is one of the 51 Sati Peethas where the right ear of Sati Mata was dropped.
The temple is very very well maintained. The premises are clean. The main temple of Goddess Bhimakali is basically made of wood. You can take photos everywhere in the temple except the main one. You have to put your camera, mobile and leathered belongings outside the 'Simha Prouda' ( Entrance to the main temple) and have to enter the temple covering your head. The narrow stairs lead to the deity.
Apart from the Bhimakali Ji temple, there are temples of Lord Shiva, Lord Narasimha and Langkarbeej Ji . There ia a small museum and a rest house too in the premises.
Your mind will definitely become cool once you enter the temple premise. Enjoy the beauty of the surrounding Himalayas along with the ring of temple bells as a perfect background music !

This temple is located in the town of Sarahan, the temple is very beautiful and stunning architectural wonder is one of the representatives of 51 Shakti Peeths. The unique thing about this temple is that the style of architecture with ornate wooden ornaments used to build it is a unique amalgamation of both Hinduism and Buddhism. It is built of wood and is no less than an architectural masterpiece. Located near the temple are the palaces of the royal families of Shimla. To enter the temple is required to use headgear that can be borrowed before entering the temple. A must see at Sarahan for its specific architecture: alternating stone and wood, one is from the 7th century and the other from the 12th. The surrounding is so beautiful and calm that one can feel like standing in heaven.

Bhimakali Temple is a complete package, with decent cheap accommodation, lovely home cooked food. Very homely and helpful people. The Temple wooden architecture is really a delight for the senses. I would recommend everyone to try this place if you are halting in Sarahan. I would rate this experience much higher than staying at the comfortable HPTDC accommodation nearby.

This is a temple made out of wood and is a very nice place. The idol of goddess is on the top floor with wodden stairs leading toit. The window on the top floor provides very good view of the mountain ranges. Temple does not allow you to carry on mobile phones, camera and leather items and provides lockers to store your things into it free of cost. The priest in the temple would not force you to make donations etc. The aarti of the temple is not to be missed. Temple also has a dharamshala for those who want to stay at nominal charges.

I was hoping to get some insight on how one can reach Bhimakali temple from Tabo, which is where I am going to be staying. Also wondering does it make more sense to go Sarahanpur from Kaza? I was planning to reach Tabo first , spend some time there and head to BhimaKali before joining my friends again at Kaza.
I will require info on public and cheap modes of transport. Please don't ask me to hire a car and the like :)
Thanks in advance for all input.

Public transport is available from Kaza to Kabo and onto Sarahan either way. Traveling time Ex Kaza to Sarahan is approximately 8 to 10 hours subject to road conditions

Can anyone please tell me the contact numbe rof Bhimakali temple guest house. What is the process of advance room booking in Bhimakali temple.
Written June 29, 2015
One can book room by simply calling up the Himachal pradesh tourism office (HPTDC) situated at Shimla and also at Sarahan. They reply very promptly on email also. The contact number of the said resthouse will be available to HPTDC office, Sarahan. I would strongly recommend to go through the HPTDC official website. On spot booking of the temple guest house may also be available depending on the season.
