In the end, were happy in Belchen Seilbahn. For around 40€ (a family ticket), we spent time for sight seeing and skiing around from 12.00-17.00. The last lift is usually at 16.30 but we were lucky so many visitors at the day and they extended...More

We were staying nearby in Munstertal, so Belchen was only 20 minutes away. Firstly we picked a glorious day warm and clear. The first part was in a cable car but when you reached the summit there were a number of interesting walks all with...More

We visited in summer and it was a lovely trip travelling up in the cable car to the top with commanding views for kilometres in all directions. It gave us a really good perspective of the area. Green fields everywhere. Whilst in European terms this...More

You can take the local bus to Belchen, purchase round trip gondola tickets. Enjoy the smooth and scenic ride to the top where there are plenty of vistas for photos, a small gift shop and good restaurant with 360 degree windows for your enjoyment.

Drove approx 1 hours plus from Lörrach to Belchen - straight to the cable car 'terminal'. You have the options of walking up the trail (which takes approx 1 hour) or to take the cable car which takes approx 10-15 min. My suggestion, walk up...More

You can either walk or take the cable car, you are not allowed to drive to the top in your own car.
where to stay next in Olu Deniz?? (11 Replies)
Hi, I hope some people can help.....I have been to Olu Deniz 3 times in the last 18 months, my husband and son and my mum and dad and weall love it. We have stayed in the majestic for it location and the fact we have a son who likes to be in the pool from sunrise to sunset, always meets some mates etc etc, they can get a bit loud jumping in the pool etc and no one minds This time we are going as a group of 8 and I don't think my sister in law will like the majestic, really looking for a...More

Hi Donnasway, we have tried the Turquoise, Mavruka, going to Belcehan Deluxe this year and Tower next Sept. Turquoise may have suited you for next July, but unfortunately it's All Inclusive now so not what you want. From what you have described as your requirements and needing B+B, I would guess your best bet might be the Asena Beach hotel. It's probably the best 3 star in the resort and a good size with more facilities than the smaller hotels. Perhaps someone like the Codfather will be...More

We're planning a trip to Amsterdam and Southern Germany and I would love advice as to whether this makes a good route, or any recommended changes. We're planning to Drive most of the way, and then take an overnight train back to Amsterdam. Day 1: Amsterdam, Day 2: Rhine River - Stay in Cologne (Koln), Day 3: Stay in Castle near Mainz, Day 4: Castle Road to Castle Colmberg, Day 5: Drive through the black forest and stay in Belchen. Day 6: Neuschwanstein and then continue to Munich. Day 7:...More

Truthfully? You are going to be doing a ton of driving if you stick with this itinerary and you probably won't love your vacation as much as you would if you cut some things out. The Black Forest is extremely out of your way compared to everything else. The Rhein is much more interesting from Bingen to Koblenz, and its basically right next to Mainz. Amsterdam and Cologne are awesome cities, and I love the Neuschwanstein area. I'm not familiar with castle road so I can't really comment on...More
