I showed up on Jabberwock Beach by dinghy from Jumby Bay where we had anchored our yacht, for a kiteboarding session with my own gear only to find out that I had forgotten my harness. Adam, owner of Kitesurf Antigua, graciously let me borrow one of his school’s, as I had no money on me to rent it. He even offered to help me launch my dinghy after my session. What a guy! Shout out to him and Kitesurf Antigua. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn kitesurfing in Antigua.

Fantastic school in an incredible location.

Speacial thank you to Margot for her amazing instruction and patience! She taught me to self launch and land in a professional and safe manner, as well as being an all round legend and saving me when the weather got nasty.

Looking forwarding to visiting again soon!

I had an amazing time taking lessons at Kitesurf Antigua. I was pretty nervous going into the lesson because of some bad past experiences with water but Gary, my instructor, made me feel comfortable and clam. He was very patient with me and gave great feedback on what I was doing well on and what needed improvement. I really appreciated how Gary offered to break up my lesson when I wasn’t feeling well and was worried about the waves — I was able to do a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours later in the afternoon when the weather conditions were better. I definitely feel confident in the skills I learned to go out and practice. I was very excited that by the end of my lessons I was able to water start and ride a few meters! Great coaching and support from Gary!

The whole school setup had a very welcoming environment especially during some parts of my lesson where the winds were either dying or picking up (not ideal for beginners) so I hung out with the other instructors. Loved talking to them and learning more about the sport. Very passionate group of people! Definitely would come back for more lessons!

Upon arriving at Kitesurf Antigua, you are greeted with rustling palm trees and warm smiles. The beach is not far. A short trail delivers you from the shadows, and as your body swells with excitement, you see it....

White shores and beyond.

The vibe at Kitesurf Antigua is always fun and welcoming. Jabberwock beach is a gem of a kite spot. You have flat water, perfect wave kickers and a small kite park. The long beach makes it perfect for beginners and there is always some one to lend a hand. The instructors are top notch and the prices for lessons are really good. Kitesurf Antigua is a great social hub and I always end up making new friends on each visit. Thanks for the memories Adam.

I had the best time learning to Kitesurf at Kitesurf Antigua!
The Beach/ Location is Paradise! Jabberwock is one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean,
Adam, Jack! and the rest of the Staff are all extremely nice and very helpful! Putting safety first, going through all the basics of kite control and specific drills to make you feel comfortable and help you build a good foundation.
I actually got up and going! 🏄‍♂️
Would defiantly recommend them to family and friends! I will defiantly be returning!
I purchased my own gear and cant wait to practice in Canada everything they Taught me.
Thanks Again!✨
To Adam🏄‍♂️

My girlfriend and I flew to Antigua for 10 days to kitesurf in the off-season. We started off pretty novice, but Adam was super helpful renting us Cabrinha kites for the whole time and giving us lots of tips and advice. We had a blast overall and now feel confident kiting independently and are completely hooked!

- Wind: cross/on wind at the spot means it's beginner friendly (you just get blown to the sandy beach if anything goes wrong). The wind was good enough to kite every day, although 15 knots actually felt quite light (apparently warm dry air = lower density & less force)
- Water: super warm. Shallow area for launching and landing (also flatter water). Small rolling waves out at sea, no break or currents to worry about.

Great experience overall, would highly recommend Kitesurf Antigua at Jabberwock beach! We went from nervous launching and landing to getting a few small jumps and backrolls. Just make sure to bring your best suncream!

I had a fantastic time with mike at Antigua kite school. Really loved learning to control the kite. Mike was patient and an excellent instructor. More over he was great at putting me at ease when I got nervous or lost control. Would have loved to have done the 10hr course but as a taster the four hour is fab.

Jabberwock beach is one of my favourite kite spots and Adam and the crew are also my favourite kite school, always super friendly, free for a chat or a helpful hand on the beach. i come back every year and Jabber is always good for a session. The Antiguan consistent warm trade winds are not only perfect conditions for learning and progressing but the instructors at Kitesurf Antigua are always super motivational and this year they started Advanced clinics at the weekends. Gary was teaching us and he was amazing! he managed to open everyones eyes to what they could achieve if they put there minds to it. The classes were great fun and the instruction was very clear and all done in a really safe environment. Everyone learned heaps!! i would highly recommend this school to anyone who want to have a laugh while they have a kite lesson in the beautiful blue water that Antigua has to offer.

The instructors are really good at their job and as a bonus are also really kind, hilarious and fun to be around. My friend and I had no experience kitesurfing and yet left feeling like we had a solid foundation. Neither of us are athletic types, but learning how to control the kite gave us a lot of confidence and a huge adrenaline rush. Adam the owner was super friendly and helpful. Thanks guys! Can’t wait to come back and level up!

I've been wanting to learn to kitesurf for years, and I had zero prior experience with the sport. A coworker who is an experienced kitesurfer recommended learning on Jabberwock beach, so Kitesurf Antigua was the place to go. Instructor Gary got me comfortable with the kite and getting up on the board within six hours!

I had 4 sessions: 2 afternoons and 2 mornings totaling 7 hours. Lessons are typically 2 hours each, but since the winds were light on the first lesson, the guys cut the lesson short so I wasn't wasting my money.

Similar to what was said by a previous reviewer who worked with Oliver "Olly," the lessons are intuitively structured so that every element of this complex sport is broken down into building blocks. You focus on one element on a time, and once you've learned it, move on to the next skill without expending too much mental capacity thinking about the previous elements. Gary did a great job of observing what I was doing wrong, provided concise instructions to correct my mistakes, and was encouraging each time I made progress.

Jabberwock beach is an ideal place to learn thanks to the shallow crescent shape of the beach and prevailing on-shore winds. This way the winds and current will always bring you back on to the beach if anything goes wrong.

I made steady progress throughout all the lessons, and had a great time. There were a few frustrating moments as we started combining all the skills, but Gary got me sorted out straight away. I was consistently getting up on the board by my fourth lesson and that's when the real fun began!

Unfortunately I didn't have anymore time on the island to get in some more lessons. I would have liked to get in at least two more sessions to keep practicing and really build my confidence putting all the skills together.

Thanks to instructors Gary, Olly, and Aries, and school owner Adam! All the guys are laid back, want to keep you safe, and make sure you have a great time learning this exciting sport!

You'll need a couple days to bring everything together, but it's absolutely worthwhile. If you've ever thought about learning, Kitesurf Antigua is the place to do it!

Other notes:
Sunblock!
Drink plenty of water.
Also, you'll be looking into the sun in the afternoon. Sunglasses would help, but there will be a lot of chances for them to get knocked off while you're in the water, so if you decide to wear sunglasses, make sure you have something to make sure they stay on your head. Sun will be at your back in the mornings.
