This venue is great for the Halle Gerry-Webber tennia Open. The atmosphere is great and you've got great view on the court from anywhere around the stadium. Would go back next year.

This is a great venue to see Roger Federer play his genius tennis. I understand he likes playing at Gerry Weber stadium. ATP 500 series. I was lucky enough to see Coric, Zverev, Federer,Paire, Thiem, Mayer, Gasquet, Basilashvili, Ebden, Kudla, Kolschrieber. Many of the tennis players stay at the hotel on site so many fans hang out waiting to see them, but security is huge and very visible. The stadium is great as its not too big, about 11,000 people so you are able to see the tennis from not too far away. (this is better than Queens/Fever Tree London 2018.) Plus the roof closes in under 2 mins so the tennis can continue. I flew to Dusseldorf, monorail to intercity train station, 2 hours train ride to university city of Bielefeld. Plenty hotels in Bielefeld. If you have tennis tournament tickets don't have to pay on trains or buses to get to Gerry Weber stadium (from Bielefeld.) Trains stop at Halle West and Halle Gerry Weber stadium. so all very convenient. Trains take 20 mins from Bielefeld and run very regularly. If they are working on railway they provide bus to link up with railway. If you have centre tickets you can access all the other courts too. Some people selling tickets outside stadium. first day I queued 45 mins to get in for noon start, remaining days very little queue. bags searched and body checked by same sex person. Not sure if they allow bottled water in or not in 2018. Usual food/drink outlets and tennis paraphernalia shops on site.

Very good once you get here. The concession stands don’t all accept credit cards so bring your euros. You can check a bag if it’s too large to bring in.

I went to watch the final game. This stadium is near the station. If you have big luggage, you don't have to worry. There is a luggage keep box on the way from the nearest station. There are many food stores. You can enjoy food anytime and anywhere.

We are from Canada and we like to see tennis matches especially in enclosed stadiums, we don't want to go long distances and get rained out, so this works beautifully. Stayed in Bielefeld and took the train to the stadium. It is a 20 minute train ride and is free if you have a ticket for the game. Trains come and go hourly. The stadium is excellent, small enough so you can see the action, and it has a roof that closes if it rains. Food prices are a bit high but that is normal for sporting events. Lineups during the breaks are huge but that is the nature of these things. Overall....makes for a great tennis experience.
