Redu on itself is nice, but rather small. Unfortunatly most shops were closed when we visited. There are some nice hikes that start from the village.

Nice village
Feb 2020
We went here on a Sunday afternoon in February. We walked a bit around the nice church, it all looked really nice. This village is beautiful. But on this Sunday all book shops were closed, or at least the ones we did see. Fortunately, we came for lunch and there were two restaurants open. Also, the museum and the tourist office were open. We had lunch and after a nice walk at the Lesse in the surroundings.

We often stop here when travelling from Luxembourg to Brussels or the other way round. Lovely village with bookshops and restaurants.

This village has been created in 1984 as the book village but is an old one with grey stone houses and several restaurant where stop and enjoy local food. Twice a month there is the market of local typical products 2nd and 4 th Sunday of the month.
Nice place to relax and where buy books and not only.

Nice small village with secondhand books
Sep 2018 • Couples
A nice small village, ideal for simple meal and local beers before good local walks or going thru the bookshops. I would rate it at 4 stars but 10-20 years ago went there regularly and it was much more active with more shops, paper making and printing which you could see. This has declined probably thanks to the conveniance of the internet but I still like Redu. It is now a more clean and upmarket place.

A strange but facsinating village

Deep in the beautiful Ardennes Redu has only about 400 inhabitants -- augmented at weekends by hundreds of book lovers. There are close to 40 bookshops here, most open only at the weekend; and virtually all worth a visit. You can ride a horse on an excursion through the surrounding forest; watch a craft papermaker at work; have a drink or meal in one of the excellent restaurants.

A pleasant Sunday
Sep 2017 • Family
A characteristic hamlet in the Ardennes countryside which offers the opportunity to combine a good meal, a pleasant walk and funny discoveries in the old bookshops. Recommended to any book lover, regardless of the interest in second-hand books or antiquities. Worth a day together with friends and family. PS: The open raspberry fields also provide amusement for adults and children.

Fading glory? Beware of scams!
Jul 2017 • Family
We went back to Redu after many years and were expecting to find the same vibrant atmosphere we had experienced in the past. Well, it has changed. We saw a significantly lower level of activity. And in addition we had a very painful experience with a rude, and poorly educated salesmen. Literrally attempting to trap us into his purchasing scam... I hope the village will see better days and more people coming but Idefinitely RECOMMEND TO AVOID the Bouquinerie Generale!
