Tucked almost into the side of the cliff, worth the stop. I only did the $3 self guided tour vs the $10 guided tour but it felt like enough on a rainy day.

I almost missed reviewing this as the Phare-du thing threw me off. This was a great stop, we stayed 4 doors down at the H/M Le Phillaron and had access to it all day and night. The sunrise pics are great, the view of forillon cliffs is great, the people are friendly. The cost is $3 to get in the... More

We stopped here on our way around the Gaspe. Our French isn't very good so we were able to secure an English-speaking guide. We paid the extra for the tour. The size and history of this lighthouse are significant since there were so many shipwrecks on this jagged coastal points. There is also a Celtic cross memorial near the lighthouse.... More

Beautiful, am I passionate enough! It was a few dollars to get in but the history here is priceless. I was here with my Hubby and two boys aged 8 and 10, I can assure you that I had just as much fun as they did learning about lighthouses and shipwrecks. We did not pay the enormous amount of money... Bernard was soo passionate and thorough with the history. If nit for Bernard ( the guide) this would have been average. Must visit to learn the history and the Canadian culture.

We were able to climb to the top of Canada's tallest lighthouse and enjoyed the views. We were able to do this because the community has taken over the upkeep of the lighthouse. Despite the plaque that states this is a Canadian National historic site, the government no longer maintains the lighthouse. If you have time, go across the street... More

We chose our B&B at this magnificent location. Since it is virtually between the coast and lush greenery, it was great feeling to be driving within the Forillon National Park every time we headed towards the Gaspe downtown. The walk around the coast with the Lighthouse, the old church and the cemetary was simply what the doctor ordered!

This historic lighthouse, the tallest in Canada, is no longer being looked after by the Canadian Coastguard Service, so is now starting to fall into disrepair, with several large cracks appearing in the masonry. It is, therefore, no longer accessible to public entry, but you can walk all around it. The situation is very picturesque, and is steeped in history.... More

We took photos from a distance as access was not available! I love to see these Beacons and the history they hold! Lovely small community! Part of the trip around the complete Gaspe! Make sure you travel on a sunny day!
