Amazing beauty of Mai Nha Island, Vietnam
Jan 2014
Mai Nha Island recalls the Robinson Island because it is the place where there is just one man is living with his cows and flocks of chickens. Mai Nha island is a small island, located in An Hai commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province, Vietnam. It is around 27 kilometers north of Tuy Hoa City. On the island there is just one old man living. Many people, even the local residents in Phu Yen province have never heard of or come here, thus it is dubbed "Robinson" Island. Although it is not so far away from the mainland, boats often come to the island between April and August when the weather is good and the sea is calm. After a long ride of nearly 400 kilometers from Da Nang city to Phu Yen province, riding past the quiet Cu Mong pass at night, moving along winding roads with no lights, finally light-lit Tuy Hoa city appeared before my eyes with crowded streets and sounds of vehicles. On the following day's morning, from Tuy Hoa, I rode on Le Duan street, followed the roads along the beach to get to An Hai commune, Tuy An district. Robinson Island lies in the distance with amazingly beautiful sandy beach. In lunar January, the fishermen here exempt from carrying women to the island on the large fishing boats, thus if you women want to go to the island, you have to get on small boats with removable engines. It is really an exciting experience to be on a boat with the blue sky above you, green ocean surrounding you and a sparkling, beautiful island lying in front of you in the distance. For about 40 minutes, the boat approached the shore, the island came before your eyes with no trace of human. We burst with joy and were amazed by the paradise-like beauty of the island. The island is surrounded by rolling ranges of mountain, green trees and white sandy beaches. The beaches here are very primitive, the water is so clear that you can see each of the coral reefs below. Move to the beach around 5-10 meters, you can try diving and catching sea shells. After one hour of diving, we collected a big basket of live sea shells, they look fresh and so delicious. Behind the island are rolling ranges of mountain with green and beautiful flora. If you pay attention, you can spot an amazing circle area that looks like the Stonehenge in the UK. Standing on the mountain, you can see another amazingly beautiful beach with no trace of human steps. After taking a tour around the island, it was getting dusk. You can go back to the beach to admire the sunset. It was so wonderful to enjoy sunset on a quiet island, all of the worries in your life seemed to disappear, now there was just a quiet beach and sunset in the distance left. That was such an extraordinarily peaceful feeling. At night, we put up tents and got things ready for a night on the beach. Everyone sat around a camp-fire with a roasted chicken and a pot of chicken gruel, sharing our life and journeys. Being on a desert island gives you an exciting, mysterious and wonderful feeling. Mai Nha Island leaves unforgettable impressions on us, we promise to go back to this desert island one day.

Amazing clear and blue sea there, beautiful and pure nature. Along the beach has a lot of death coral, and seaweed. It's not really comfortable if you walk in barefoot. Be careful if you want to swim there, there a lot jell. This area don't have any basis accommodation, disappointed that visitors left rubbish around.
