We visited the Plough as a last-minute decision to eat out having been staying nearby. We were looking for a good value pub meal which is exactly what they offer. It is a delightful village pub, serving traditional pub grub, we have steak pie and lamb shank. Food was tasty and hot(not always the case when you eat out, do important to us). My dessert was about disappointing but hubby enjoyed his crumble. Good value, friendly staff in an inviting environment.

Spot on. Nice location, good food reasonably priced. Everything we were looking for really. Service was fine, we came away glad we had taken the time to find it. We both had the pie of the day, which was great, and good beer. No question if we find ourselves flying from EM again, we'll be back.

Being the only place to get food in the Picturesque village we found it a bit pricey for what was served
1 x homemade Burger with Blue Cheese served with chips n salad, had it not been for the cheese this would have been very bland as there seemed to be a lack off seasoning.
1 x Homemade Peppered Steak pie served with chips Gravy Peas, All very tasty served on hot plates.
The pub itself was beautiful very welcoming although you got the initial vibe from locals as you walk in “here come strangers “
Open coal fire roaring making for a cosy feel
Lots off little rooms to choose from to sit. Lots off interesting beer bottles to read.

Turned up on Sat evening for tea as waiting to return to airport hotel for early morning flight. Bar girl was rude and asked If I was waiting.....had been 5 mins so....yes!!
Ordered food including a "morrocan kebab".....
Food turned up after 30mins and considering we were the first to order at exactly 5pm as stipulated the by the rude bar girl......it was disappointing to say the least.
Kebabs were Tesco ones on a stick served with a pathetic effort of a salad from 1976, a few frozen chips and a cold pitta bread what hadn't been cut and impossible.to do anything with.
We ate the food and complained at the end after being asked if all was OK....I questioned the value of the kebab meal and the quality of the food served and was told by the supposed "waitress" that she doesn't set the prices and it's the managers as I should see.
I was then accused of being rude with my comments and a shouting competion ensued with customers waiting to be seated.
Absolute joke of pub/eatery, rude staff, poor food, excessive prices and no customer service whatsoever. I don't care whether I eat there again but be warned that if you're not happy with your food there will be no attempt to put it right as you pay for the food before it is served.....
Rubbish and bad attitude!!!!

Due to good reviews on here we visited the Plough for an evening meal and a few beers not wanting to pay airport prices. Its only down the road and nicely tucked away giving a 'countryside local' feel to it.
The menu pictures on here are a bit outdated although some of the prices/choices like the burgers are correct. We settled for the 'all day breakfast' which hit the spot at 20:00 hours!!. The drinks are good too and I'd recommend a visit to anyone pre flight.

My wife and I were travelling South in our Motorhome to Sussex one Sunday and were very close to Donington Park Racing circuit when the fog descended and it was considered too dangerous to proceed. We saw a sign indicating The Plough and literally just chanced upon it. We have nothing but praise for this lovely village pub. They allowed us to stop on their carpark overnight and were able therefore to enjoy their hospitality. The draught Bass was in excellent form, their wine choice was excellent and the locals very friendly and hospitable. A wonderful evening. Meals good and at reasonable prices. Truly a pub for the connoisseur.

Great country pub serving really good food & approx. a mile or so away for East Mids Airport its a great way to start your Holiday.
Stopping at the Redisson Blu the night before going away we went for an evening meal here & have to say the food was very good, drinks range excellent and good service.
This is a great country pub if your stopping in a Hotel before flying out, This is our second visit to the Plough & we weren't disappointed & hopefully looking forward to next year if we do the same again, stop overnight before going away.
Well recommended !!
