In short: Amazing and exhausting.
Not for newbes in mountaineering.
Need some stamina and a good mindset.
I did the 4 day hike with Salento Hikers and i really enjoyed it! The two guides we had were also awesome and had quite a big knowledge about the region, the nature and the animals. And the whole tour is very good organised with the meals, the transportation, the hikes and the mules.
Even if it is all organised very well, there is still the performance of your body needed. The hike is not difficult in a technical point of view, but you gotta bring a lot of stamina and be aware that you will hike up to 5200 meters above sea level!
There is also an option to do it a bit more cheaper from another company within 3 days, but from the stories i heard from first hand, it is not recomended. The second day is just too hard that its hard to even enjoy it.
Comming to an end, for me it was worth every penny and more (tipps, not necessary but we wanted to give the guides an extra). And if you wanna make this tour, you are fit enough and not a total newbe to mountaneering, go ahead with Salento Hikers!

We did a 3-day trek in Los Nevados Park with guides Yeyo and John. It was an incredible experience, notably thanks to the landscapes but largely thanks to them because they are passionate. They introduced us to a lot of bird species, they know absolutely everything about the park and they know how to do everything (sing, dance, care for, make food, etc.)
I highly recommend this agency, you can go there with your eyes closed.

An unforgettable experience with exceptional guides: Yeyo, Steven and Juan Esteban. We did a three-day tour: Discovering the Páramo. We loved the landscapes, the rhythm, the atmosphere with the group and the deep knowledge of the Páramo guides. One of the guides even grew up there, so he has known it since he was a child and its stories. The other two guides have walked it on many occasions and know the region and its people well and have advanced training in safety in extreme conditions. The walk was very well organized and the food was prepared with the best intention and quality taking into account the conditions of the farms at distances of 6 to 7 hours on foot from the valley. The work and living conditions on the farms near Los Nevados are impressive. We have a lot of respect for its inhabitants and the guides.

We did the 4-day Nevado del Tolima hike, and can only recommend it highly!! Gustavo from the office truly wants you to have a good experience and helped us with everything we needed. The gear is perfect. A lot of snacks and food.
Our guide Hamilton was professional, experienced, sincerely passionate, with an incredible knowledge of the mountains, nature, safety, ornithology… and a huge love and respect for the environment.
Book in advance and check with them what to bring. Make sure you’re acclimatised and in good health and condition before. Lots depends on the weather, but you’re in super good hands with Salento Hikers!

Our experience was incredible. Our guides: Jeison, Juan Estéban and Steven, made sure the atmosphere was great, while maintaining 3 different paces so that everyone could make sure they were on their own. They were well prepared for any occasion and knew a lot about the landscapes we were seeing. The atmosphere in the group was incredible as the group was very compatible and talkative. In addition, Gustavo, the owner, was super accessible, and helped us with our arrival in Salento, while offering us our initial "Survival Kit" with snacks, lunch for the first day and also fruit. I couldn't recommend it more to people who really love hiking, and who have some endurance, since it is not the easiest hike out there. However, Salento Hikers offers many other experiences so you can find the one that best suits you.

First of all we just want to give a big thank you to just the greatest guides in John, Will and Abi! Gustavo as well was really helpful and gave us an expectation that the trek to Nevado del Tolima would be great, which it was!
Four fantastic days with a great group, the guides were very nice and had a lot of knowledge. John knew everything about nature and the life out there, Abi had great knowledge about everything when it came to trekking, climbing and doing it the safest way and Will who was always smiling and making the walking motivational and fun! Three guides with great qualities.
In addition to this, they also made sure we got every meal, snacks and water. They had good control of everything and made it very easy for the rest of the group. 10/10!
We did the 4 days to Nevado del Tolima at 5276m, and the days flew by. Would recommend this trip to everyone that enjoys hiking over several days and wants to experience different ecosystems in the same trek. From rainforest to glacier.

Salento hikers was the best choice for us trekking the Paramillo del Quindio! The guide was awesome, the places we spent the night was so unique! The price included trekking poles and rubber boos! The paths were so muddy and we crossed several rivers at knee hight. The other groups we met did not have rubber boots and their shoes and pants were wet all 3 days. If it has rained, you want the boots!

We were traveling eight people, two families of 4 and to know something about the nature of Quindío we opted to take a tour of the Carbonera Valley with Salento Hickers. Quite a hit. We spent a fantastic day accompanied by Oscar, Expert Guide. Thank you Oscar for telling us so much and with such passion about the nature of the Quindio, the ecosystem and the conservation of the wax palm. It has been a perfect experience that we have enjoyed very much.

Salento hikers were absolutely awesome, the guides were very knowledgeable about the areas we hiked through and were professional and organised. The food provided was great and everything was well planned. Summiting the Nevada del Tolima was a surreal and unforgettable experience, would highly recommend.
