This is a very cute town-colorful buildings, a great central park with a gorgeous church facing it, and plenty of restaurants and bars. Yes, it's touristed and the prices are too high, but it's an awful lot od fum to walk it!

The main tourist strip is chock full with gift shops, sure, but Region Paisaje, located down a side street off of the main strip is where you really want to get your Salento mementos!
Region Paisaje is an art shop where a collective of artists sells their own art in the form of photography, handcrafts, clothing and some jewelry. The photography is sold in the form of posters, prints, magnets, and postcards. The jewelry pieces are unique and made from a local indigenous group. Also on sale is some really cool, funky male clothing, designed by the guy who was working there who is a clothing designer.
This is a great place to buy mementos to remind you of your trip to Salento, because they reflect the local culture but they are also unique and interesting. Different from the standard, factory made stuff you'll find on the main strip. Really great art shop!

We flew to Pereyra and rented a car. We drove for 45 minutes along a very well kept road. Fantastic views for some of the way ,we discovered the next day!! Our plane was late, so we drove by night with no problems at all. We stayed at Ecohotel Gran Azul, 700 mtrs from Salento. Excelent views of the mountains!! Day one we did the Cocora valley trekking and had dinner in Salento. Day two we visited the Botanical gardens in Armenia, zip lines in Armenia and then we drove to Filandia in the late afternoon and had dinner there. Day 3 Coffee farm El ocaso. There are more activities to explore the area like trekking in the National parks close to Filandia, swimming in a waterfall, weather permitting, and horseback riding. The eje cafetero continues towards Montenegro, which we did not have time to explore. I would come back for more !

We got lost in the streets of Solento and stumbled upon this great little art shop. The items inside were unique and represented the beauty of the local area. The shop assistant was very helpful and talked us through the different items on sales and the artist behind them. I bought a impressive picture (+ magnet!) and would recommend everyone to make the short trip away from the general shopping street (tourist tat!) to visit.

I’m so glad I visited this amazing store! All of the artwork is so beautiful, and there’s also hand designed clothing!! After a week of daily visits I just couldn’t pick one piece!! So I bought three... all of the photographs have meaning, some have even one awards!! Highly recommend everyone to visit, you will leave with new friends! I can’t wait to come back & see your new stuff !! Here’s one of the photographs! it’s on a canvas, still waiting for the frame.

This is a nice place to stop in if looking for an interesting selection of regional artisan gifts and souvenirs. It is slightly off the most beaten tract of usual Salento city walk but worth the diversion.

The streets of Salento have many of your standard, imported from China, tourist souvenirs. This shop has a small selection of more unique items, some cool photography, trendy jackets and other locally made items.
