    Great Spa!
Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing spa day! I have visited before, but I think this was probably my favourite day as there were a few changes which I really liked. The breakfast was delicious as was the afternoon tea, I particularly liked the savoury option. The treatments were great and I got to sample the new range of Caudalie products as well. As birthday outings go, this one was pretty special, thank you!

    Mother /daughter day
I visited Reynolds retreat with my daughter . The staff were friendly , efficient and welcoming . The facilities are good and not overcrowded. The food , drinks etc were good and with views over the countryside it felt very relaxed . This was a treat for me so I am not aware of the cost but we had a lovely day and the treatments were lovely . We had the trio which was lovely as was the beautician who carried it out . Overall a lovely day .

    Great day
First time I’d ever done anything like that and it was brilliant. Extremely relaxing. Allowed me to chill and reflect for several hours. Enjoyed two great treatments and plenty of chance to use the various facilities as well. Would recommend it highly.

First time and it was ok
Went on Saturday for spa day with treatments and afternoon tea for my birthday. The mail pool was so cold but hydro was so nice and warm. Steam and sauna were great too. Not enough seating places as it was so busy! Treatments by Dionna were divine! So special thanks! Changing rooms were cold and asked to turn the air con off but it didn’t happen. It was our first time and it was ok. But won’t be back at the weekends as it was way too loud. Especially at the afternoon tea. The level of noise! In overall was ok but will only come drying the week hoping it’s not as busy!

    Spa day
We visited Reynolds as a group of 6 yesterday. First the positives: Beautiful house and surrounding views that give a luxurious feel. Nice touch that we were each given an individual itinerary on checking in along with our own bags containing towel , robe and slippers. We started with breakfast which we all really enjoyed : a lot of choice and good quality, the only thing that I think should have been included was orange juice particularly for those not wanting the included tea/coffee. One of the big positives for us was that our treatment times were all at the same time which gave us a lot of time together as a group throughout the day. All of our group were happy with our treatments and certainly the therapists I had ( Dionne and Lola) were fantastic . I did have a third therapist for my massage but unfortunately didn’t catch her name. The facilities around the pool area were also great , although some other guests unfortunately felt the need to leave their towels and robes on the area overlooking the woods for long periods so that others weren’t able to enjoy the views. Lots of fabulous outdoor seating also available although the weather prevented us from accessing it. Afternoon tea was another triumph , lovely food , although the tea/ coffee wasn’t actually brought to the table until half way through when we asked for it. Sadly a negative: When we sent in our treatment requests , I had requested some upgrades which were included , however in the process of booking the add ons they dropped my facial. I had requested a 25 minute facial and 25 minute back neck and shoulder massage with an upgrade of exfoliation and hot stone on the massage. The call centre ( seperate to the staff on site) converted my massage and exfoliation in to two seperate 55 minute treatment seating me with no facial as this was the most “ cost effective “ way of doing it. I was very confused by this as it wasn’t made clear and to cut a long story short I ended up paying an extra £40 for a facial that should have been included. We were referred to the call centre manager to discuss the following day ( today) and they claim it is basically our fault and have declined to refund the £40 I think this was pretty poor customer service considering as a group we had spent well over £1000 with them and as a group we plan spa trips several times a year

Nice spa day with my girlfriends
The spa with a group of six friends was lovely. Great breakfast amazing afternoon tea. We had enjoyable treatments. Please ensure you check what you have ordered well ahead of time to avoid issues. Sadly, one of our group thought she had a facial included in her package but due to add ones with other treatments this was not clear so had to pay for this. Pool was nice and big a bit cool 1/2 of my spa friends refused to get in because of this. The seating around the pool although practical was not the most comfortable, if you leant back to rest your head you slipped forwards. Use a towel. I had an amazing facial. I wouldn't be having lava shell again as this was so hot on my shoulder I flinched! Might be best to place initially on a larger muscle area first! It was nice on my legs. Think I will go for traditional as my back felt the same afterwards as it did before. I did feel relaxed. Staff were polite The restaurant guy was cheerful and really nice. The person who bought out food to the table was also very nice. Afternoon tea was also served beautifully. The rain spoilt our enjoyment of the grounds but looking out of the sauna was amazing.

    Wonderful day!
What an incredible Spa day! Arrived early for a great breakfast, before a top workout with fantastic facilities, maybe could have an Olympic bar station for back rows and squats etc, but otherwise equipment covers all. The spa facilities after are class, sauna with a view, aromatherapy Scent in the steam room, and a foot spa which I havent seen at many spa facilities. Then a great lunch, food really is good here! Finished off with two 25 minute treatments with Robin. Honestly the best massage I've ever had! As a regular gym goer I have a very tight and tense upper back and shoulders, and Robin ironed out those knots like a pro! Even managed to get my neck to crack, which is something I've been chasing for months. My girlfriend tells me her massage was very good too! Thank you to Reynolds! Will definitely be returning in the near future

    lovely relaxing spa day
the grounds are beautiful and the faculties are good. the house has a manor house feel and it has staff that are warm and helpful. they showed me around and i was given a lovely bag with towel, slippers, and gown which i was able to keep with me for the duration of the stay. the pool was clean and spacious, so was the hot tub. it was a bank holiday weekend and i was expecting it to be nosing but it wasn't. it was still very relaxing. i had the afternoon tea and it was delicious! would definitely stay again!

    Brilliant Spa Day
I booked a spa day for my friend’s birthday and I’m so glad I picked this one it was perfect. It is on the expensive side but well worth it. The treatments we had were brilliant, the facilities are great and very big even so there is plenty of space everywhere. I didn’t want to leave. The staff were really friendly and professional. I would go back here in a heartbeat. The only downside was that the monsoon showers weren’t working.

We were kindly given an afternoon tea and use of the facilities package as a gift. First thing we had to do on arrival was pay £20 for use of robes, towels and slippers - these are not complimentary and we wish we'd taken our own.

The reception area looked rather run down in places and in need of repainting - the same of which could be said for the entire interior. Loose door handles in the mens changing room and broken key code lockers didn't improve my initial impressions.

The pool and spa area however is lovely, if again in need of repainting and tidying up in areas. As for the afternoon tea this was good with an excellent selection of food, we just wish the music was a little more relaxing and in keeping with a spa - David Guetta isn't who we associate with a relaxing, tranquil afternoon.

It's a shame this spa feels unloved and uncared for in places. If it had an entire repaint throughout, some work done to the ceilings, flooring etc and brought back to the standard you'd expect of a first class spa facility it could be excellent, however we'd class it as average.

Although I have not visited the spa as of yet, I felt compelled to write a review about the exceptional customer service that I received from Gill today when I called up to make an enquiry.

Gill went above and beyond to answer all of my questions, was extremely polite, happy and an absolute pleasure to speak to. I was not intending to book over the phone as I was going to look into a few different options, but as Gill spoke so highly of the spa and was very accommodating to my needs this encouraged me to book up immediately.

Thank you Gill for all of your help and I look forward to our visit!

Wow! What a place! From beginning to end we were treated like royalty!
Staff were very friendly on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. We were shown around by a very lovely lady.
The facilities were brilliant. I have never sat in a sauna like it that you could look out over the beautiful scenery. I think that’s what sets this spa from others, the fact that you can see outside; close to nature.
There is so much variety of food on the menu and it was all delicious.
We decided to do the spa day which had breakfast, arrive from 9, 25 min treatment, use of facilities, cream teas (tea and two scones) and leave by 6. £129 for this which I think is very reasonable.
You can order lunch if you would like from the menu for an additional cost and some friends did do this and the food looked and tasted delightful.
The massage I had was perfect and the right firmness.
Will definitely be back for my birthday in March.
Only a few things that I think could make this place better:
A swim suit spinner to dry it.
Showers in the changing rooms that you can control rather than pressing the button every 30secs/1 min
Consultation on the massage of how does that feel or what firmness.

These are only minor things and do not spoil my experience at all but just things that would make it better I think.

My sister treated me to a spa day here with 2 treatments and afternoon tea.
Unfortunately the treatments were terrible. I have had back massages and facials before and the quality of these at Reynolds by the therapist were so bad I would never recommend coming here for treatments. There was no 'massage' involved at all, just someone rubbing lightly in the lotions. Reynolds need to review the quality of service their therapist are giving their customers. My sister also received unsatisfactory treatments. Very disappointed.

Really poor from this Spa, you pay £99 for a half day, which is just 2 hours and that includes your treatment of 25 mins, when you include getting to and from the facilities it is such a short time. Could not relax at all in the Spa as a loud class was going on and the worst bit was that you couldn't use the swimming pool. This is advertised on as part of the facilities. Would not recommend at all for the price, very poor all round.

Got myself a day pass with the intention of joining as a member and I was incredibly disappointed by my visit.

Tried 3 running machines before I found one that actually worked properly, machines seem very old (have the original iPhone connection that was discontinued nearly 10 years ago).

Changing room showers have some shampoo dispensers filled with some sort of grim liquid. Pool area had lots of broken tiles and what can only be described as the coldest hydro pool I have ever been in, it was actually so cold i had to get out to warm up!

I got chatting to one of the members, he said he had complained about these issues and nothing had been done. To top it off he said another member got the response off the management “if you don’t like it you can cancel you membership”!

Asking £100 a month for this is shocking, i can only assume they cannot afford to keep this place running…

Below is an email I sent to Reynolds Retreat which hasn’t had any courtesy of acknowledgment and it will highlight to you my experience too! Don’t waste your money!

Following todays spa day I’m afraid after talking to my friend about it that I would like to raise a complaint about quite a few things.

Upon arrival we were taken to the bar area to fill out forms and then got our bag of goods which was fine. However it wasn’t until we asked bar staff about ten mins later what we do now and are we into the spa that we were told flippantly ‘yes’ and to go to reception. We then got taken to the changing rooms and was told where things were and to get to the lounge area 10-15 mins before treatment.

Next we struggled with lockers and members even said how they never work as directed and absolutely pit luck. During this conversation we were then told by two members ‘DO NOT GO IN THE POOL’! We asked why and was told it was freezing cold and that the management knew and parts were broken. We weren’t informed this at any point and were shocked at how true it was! Freezing cold! The pool area looked pretty but cold water and heated beds which were by no means heated, was another disappointment.

Next our treatments were due and, as advised, we got to the relaxation lounge room about 10 mins before. We both had 25 min treatments x 2 and the beauticians called us literally bang on the slot and within 20-23 mins we were both done each time and back in the lounge. That means the 25mins included walking to and from the room and time to undress/dress and none were the full slots.

Then our afternoon tea was the final bit of disappointment. It was due at 1.30pm but we went down at 1pm and asked if this was ok and told yes. Then mishaps happened. Firstly although we got there early and asked if afternoon tea was ok at an earlier time we didn’t actually get anything until 1.45pm. I also thought earlier that day I’d ordered two coffees and a bottle of processco around 11am and also asked for a little birthday acknowledgment for my friend at the afternoon tea and the confetti and candles etc they mentioned never happened at all. It turned out I was charged for three coffees and no processor earlier that day and it just put a dampener and bad service on the afternoon tea. Additionally it wasn’t until we finished that I asked a staff member if afternoon tea actually included tea and she said yes you can!! Lame! Surely it should all go hand in hand and be better service than that.

I do feel staff members weren’t very professional either and all in all it was an average day and definitely not worth the costs we paid.

We went to Reynolds spa today. The spa is set on what looks like lovely grounds but the building looks tired from the outside and walking into the building at 11 was wet and muddy. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the timing of our day was pretty poor. We couldn’t arrive until 11 but our treatments had been booked for 12 and we were advised we had to be in the ‘relaxation room’ waiting for our masseurs 5-10 minutes before our treatments, so we had to rush to change and get there half an hour or so after entering the pool area. Floors were wet and slippery throughout and the swimming pool was very cold with people doing laps- not what you’d expect for a relaxing spa experience. We weren’t able to enjoy the spa for long before we had to get ready for our treatments. We went to the relaxation room which was honestly pretty disgusting. When we arrived there were 2 groups of people complaining about the space, that it was tired, grubby and the sofas were wet and looked mouldy. There were no magazines, beds or blankets and the complementary drinks was basically infused water jars from which it wasn’t possible to dispense water as they were both broken. The upkeep of this room is poor with curtain tie holders broken off the wall, a really faded picture on the mantlepiece and generally not at all a relaxing place to be. We were called in 5 minutes late to our treatments, another 5 minutes to change and get under the blanket. At the end I went to use the bathroom then found a clock and realised it was still 5 minutes until the end of my treatment time (which was meant to be 2 half hour treatments,) so I must have had 40-45 minutes tops. The lady doing the treatments did a nice job, she checked massage pressure but there were people talking loudly in the corridor during so overall not as relaxing as it could have been as well as cut short. Afternoon tea was nice, we liked all the cakes. I had given dietary requirements and specifically requested no mushroom which the waiting staff reiterated when we took our seats so it had been taken note of. I was served what turned out to be a very large mushroom vegetarian sausage roll.. very luckily this was a dietary preference and not an allergy as when I asked the waitress she told me it was chestnut and leek but did then go and check with the chef who sent their apologies but it was indeed a mushroom based dish.. not ideal.
Not sure how I feel about this. It wasn’t a particularly relaxing day to be honest, I felt rushed and stressed. The treatment was nice though short, the afternoon tea was nice other than the mushroom surprise which would be quite a worry if you had a serious allergy. I doubt we would return.

Amazing! Claire - did an absolutely amazing massage one of the best I’ve had, even though we purchased a package for the trio 40 min treatment, Claire worked on areas that really needed help she really made it individual to me and was so relaxing. The spa facilities here are much better than their fitness centre. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, clean, not over crowded. Better value for money than some of the ‘brander’ spas and honeslty better. A definite retreat! Amazing birthday treat 🤍 thank you xx

I purchased two spa packages for myself and Mum for her birthday.

Unfortunately the day wasn’t as good as previous visits.

The spa/changing rooms were absolutely jammed to the point where you couldn’t sit without being elbow to elbow and as was the pools. Groups of people in the pools as they had no where to sit. The quiet room was filled with chatter too although it was meant to be a no phones/talking zone.

There was no opportunity to relax on the loungers and for my Mum being 70 and arthritic not the experience I had hoped.

Overall we left a bit disappointed and surprised how many people used the spa. If non spa guests and members of this Reynolds club it would be a good idea to have a spa guest policy considering these days are book for peace and tranquility.

The afternoon tea I had booked in advance advising that my Mum had a food intolerance was not passed on to the chef/kitchen and when we were sat down for our afternoon tea we were advised Mums selection of sandwich’s and sausage roll would not be available as it was not noted on the kitchen teams info. The chef was apologetic and accommodating but it spoilt the treat.
