Situated near the beach and Thalassery Fort, this is a very old beautiful Church built by the British. Well maintained. A nice place for knowing the history.

Similar to the French Catholic church, this church is also located within the premises of Thalassery fort near the sea. It was built in 1869 after the British captured the fort from the French. It is a small white structure which has been restored recently.

It was a quite old church on the sea side. bit of bushes around the church and the back side was facing the sea. Sea view is good from here. The elevation of church from Thalassery fort is good. The old church was rebuilt and what we see is new one which was constructed years ago i guess.
They kept photos of old church skeleton at the entrace for public view.

Next door to Tellicherry Fort it has recently been renovated and is very beautiful. We were staying at Ayisha Manzil and our host arranged for us to visit here, the original owner of our homestay has his memorial plaque here.

Worth stopping by when visiting the fort, there is no fee but a donation towards the up keep was appreciated.

This is the church by the fort unlike a location on TA with the same name but a different picture of a much more modern church which is not the correct one

Last time visited, St Johns Church was a dilapidated shell. It was restored to its former glory in 2009 and now is well worth a visit, even though its exterior is already showing signs of needing repair. The church is located in a very old churchyard containing the graves of early European settlers, however, it is very overgrown and most inscriptions are impossible to read.
