We decided to go to the Kukulkan Plaza because it was raining. The mall is all indoors so we thought it would be a good way to spend the afternoon. Unfortunately there were many vacant storefronts and those stores that were there not enticing. On the second floor there was a grocery store that was doing a brisk business. The food court was also busy. We were in the mall less than an hour.

Faces Blvd Kukulcan, the back entrance is just across the street (Marlin Ave) from our hotel Occidental Tucancun. The usual stores... about 1/3 are vacant. Banks and ATM's for finances. Useful large grocery store supermercado Soriana for everything, food, vegetables, clothes. Explore when you've got needs or spare time.

We spent a week at a resort in Cancun for a family dental vacation. We stayed at the Royal Islander and had a suite with kitchen so we could make smoothies and soups since our mouths were too sore for chewing most foods. It was a pleasant surprise to discover the Soriana supermercado at the Kulkukan Plaza mall. They had what I needed: fresh celery, papaya, pineapple, potatoes, zucchini, garlic. They had a bakery section and imported foods as well as liquor and souvenirs. They also had a juice bar. It served our purpose well and was convenient to both the dental clinic and our apartment at the Royal Islander. We discovered that we could shop at Soriana and then carry our groceries over to the Royal Sands next door and catch the free shuttle bus back to the Royal Islander. This was preferable to the public bus because the Royal Islander is set off the main boulevard and up a hill and ibt far to walk in the rain with groceries.

Just what was needed to prevent the treck into downtown Cancun to shop at Wakmart. A newly opened store on the fist floor called Soriana. It is huge with all the services you need from food, drink, pharmacy, clothing and much more. Very clean and staff extremely helpful and speak English. On certain days, promotional offers and the prices much more competitive than the timeshare/hotels on site stores. It was a brilliant find and we found ourselves going back numerous times. But, the big WOW was when we were leaving the store with our trolley, a member of staff came to push it for us. At first, I thought he thought we had come by car or taxi and he was helping us. No, we were staying in the Royal Sands timeshare resort some 10 - 15 minutes walk away. He insisted on pushing our trolley all the way to our resort and wanted to take the shopping to our villa and unpack. Well, that was remarkable excellent customer service and a challenge to the USA and UK supermarkets to improve their customer shopping experience/s.

I purchased 3 weeks ago a usd 3500 watch and it presented a problem in the automatic mechanism, they did't respect the 4 years warranty because of an inappreciable little scratch.
once they wanna sell you, they are super polite and friendly but they count with a dreadful after sale service.
They cheat customers just stay away!!!!

I loved shopping in this mall. They had the best prices and air conditioning. I am a big shopper and loved it! Its great because it is indoors so you can hang out here on rainy days. Definetly go to the Hacienda Tequila Store. They have the best prices on tequila and a huge variety. I bought all my souvenirs here, they were so inexpensive. WAY WAY better than the market! They have tons of really cool mexican pottery. It was great. There is also a little cigar shop downs stairs and the owner is really nice and helpful if you want some good cigars, and they were a good price.

Plaza Kukulkan is just the average shopping mall in Mexico or probably in other countries, it's nice and fresh if you just arrived in Cancun, there's a lot of shops and some restaurants, we like it; however, my family and I went in July 2004, and it had just begun to be rebuilt, yet it was open, so we were a bit disappointed. I doubt that this remodeling will be over in 2004, so avoid Plaza Kukulkan, and wait until the construction work is over.

Nice place! The people at the tour desk in the middle of the mall were great and very helpful! The money exchange rate in the bank there is better than you'll get at your hotel. Nice Mall!

Didn't like this mall, pretty boring. Far better shops at the new La Isla area with riverwalk running through and ocean fronted. Also worth a look is Plaza Caracol up the other end of cancun. However Ruth Chris steak house here at kukulcan Plaza is brill and well worth a visit for a great meal.
