Nicely situated monastery. The museum has a collection of interesting icons, artifacts and historical documents. The main church is beautifully decorated, but men only.

Located near Kalloni, this monastery is surrounded by many little chapels. These chapels are family chapels. Just in front of the monastery there is a bar taverna. Inside the monastery there is a museum, very nice (unfortunately it's not allowed to take fotos). The main church is only for the men, the women are not allowed to go inside....but the... More

little bit northwest of Kalloni there is this huge monastry, with a lot of small chapels outside. Inside there is a totally different world, There are lots or various trees in the yard which I guess were brought there throughout the years and centuries. Wonderful paintings and all in all a good location to be.

We rent a scooter and stopped by this beautiful old monastery. The monastery is quite large but I suppose one hour is enough to see the place. There is a small restaurant/cafe in the monastery area.

I was staying in the neighbourhood and passed a few times the vilagge of Limonos. It'looks special, the houses, the monastery, which consists of 4 churches....on a sunny hot day, it was a marvelous place to stop by, walk for an hour and afterwards enjoy a cup of greek coffee in front of the monastery.

Beautiful place to walk around for an hour or so. Very interesting and quite shaded! Make sure you go as a part of a tour so that you can learn about the history of the area. Great shop too!

We stopped at this monastery on our way to Sigri, it was only a short time to look around before we had to on the Bus again. There are only 3 monks there now and the whole place is in need of some care which is a shame. We would like to go back again when we are in the... More
