Forget all the other whale watching tours you might have done! Hervey Bay is where the humpback whales stop for 2-3 weeks to relax before migrating again, and it changes everything. They feel relaxed and safe here so they enjoy it. They get more curious, more playful. I cannot believe what I experienced (multiple breaches, whales coming to see us). This is the most magical experience I’ve lived.
And doing a tour with a respectful and knowledgeable crew is what we should always get. Yet you won’t find anyone like the Pacific Whale Foundation crew members. Marine biologist, skipper or volunteer, the girls were amazing. Knowing I was supporting a research program and that was going on the ocean with people whose job is protecting and respecting the whales was also very important in my decision.
No need of second thoughts, I recommend anyone to do it!!

The trip was incredible. Excellent skipper and team. So knowledgeable and genuinely excited to see whales themselves.. that makes it even more fun. We were blessed with many antics and play. We loved it and highly recommend Pacific Whale foundation

Had a truly fantastic experience whale watching, we were “mugged” by a mother and calf that swam around and under our boat for over 30 minutes then both gave a display of tail slapping. Saw other whales too, breaching and feeding. The crew were great and I loved being closer to the water than the big catamarans.

Excellent trip. Pleanty of Whales close up. We enjoyed it so much we went for a second trip the next day.
Well organised and smaller faster boat that can get to sightings quickly. No trouble in finding Whales and moving to other pods.

We picked a great day- the weather was perfect- the boat is just the right size - not too many people- great viewing anywhere on the boat. The guides we excellent - I think they were as excited as we were when the mother and calf came up close to the boat . Perfect day

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed multiple trip on PWF Australia in Hervey Bay! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the trip. We saw a lot of whales during our trip, including many whale calves breaching as they were being taught by their Moms. We visit PWF in Maui every year, and we like the fact that PWF is a huge advocate of whale protection. We look forward to visiting again!

Lots of whales in Hervey Bay 2024. Experienced the whales up close for over an hour going round the Pacific Whale Foundation vessel. Great viewing, different experience to the larger vessels. Will do it again next year with them. A must do tour.

I didn't get the chance to go on a whale tour with them because it was off-season, but it's definitely worth visiting their store. They have amazing stuff, great books, and by supporting locals, you're also supporting the community. You'll have a great time, and the person in charge is incredibly nice and helpful. Thanks so much for the experience!

What an absolute fantastic day with Pacfic Whale Foundation, we took our daughter & hubby from Tassie , the whales came right up to the boat & we had the pleasure of see 2 pods of mums & baby's. These guys on this boat are so knowledgeable & service is absolutely 💯. This is our 4th time on this tour & it won't be our last thank you Pacfic whale Foundation x

We saw heaps of humpback whales. The tour was absolutely amazing. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and happy to tell us a lot about the whales and answer our questions. It was one of our favourite experiences visiting Australia.
