There was plenty of whales jumping and slapping. Lots of room on vessel although not many on board day we went. Whales were the stars.

So sadly we went on this at the tail end of whale watching season, so we really had to hunt for whales. However, the team were amazing and we managed to find every single whale left in the Fraser Island bay area. We only got...More

Transportation from Noosa to Hamilton Island (2 Replies)
Decided on the following for our vacation plans: Fly into Brisbane and arrange coach transfer to Noosa. Spend 3 nights in Noosa, including one full day of whale watching in Hervey Bay (pick up in Noosa). Then spend 5 nights in Club Med on Lindeman Island. Questions: 1. What is the best way to get from Noosa to Hamilton Island? It does not appear that JetStar or Virgin Blue flys this route. Is there coach transfer or possibly train? 2. Any recommendations on Whale Watching? Got one...More

Qantas only flies to Hamilton on Tues, Friday and Sundays...Jetstar run daily services at approximately the same cost as Virgin Blue..imho go with Virgin at a minimum as you'll get an allocated seat...Jetstar is a rush to get a seat and often the planes to HTI are filthy.

Whale Watch in Hervey Bay (10 Replies)
We are planning to be in Hervey Bay in mid Sept. Due to our schedule, we can only do the half day tour. So far, there are only four companies that do that. Anyone has any thoughts about: Spirit of Hervey Bay and Whalesong? Also, I heard that the morning tour is better as you can see more whales. We can only make it for the afternoon tour. Will that make any difference?

Whalesong are locals and here all year round even outside of whale watch season. I go with them every year. Morning cruise is usually the best.
