This is a wonderful place to visit with its moving walkway allowing you to see the fish as if you were under water. There’s lots of information displayed, swimming with the sharks, presentations etc. There’s a cafe and souvenir shop too.

I did see a few patrons on wheelchair though I'm not sure if it's loan from AQWA. But like everyone else said, ask them ... the staff are friendly and helpful.

Shops are open until 9.00pm in the suburbs on Thursday 4th - the day you arrive. You could always get to Leederville or Subiaco easily by train if you wished. Abalone is out of season in WA in June but Tasmanian is available all year. You could ask at Kailis in Leederville if you get there on the 4th, or in Fremantle when you are there. You will be busy on the 7th. I would drop the Bell Tower and Tour until the 8th and just do AQWA/Hillarys Boat Harbour and SciTech (!). TBH each one can...More

Child-friendly 6D/5N Perth trip advice - Help please! (6 Replies)
Hiyo All, Greetings from Singapore! Chanced upon this great website and have been at it for the past 4 hours. I'm currently planning a 6D/5N trip to Perth in mid-Sept for my family of 3, incl. my 4YO gal. I'm hoping to make it a "child-friendly" tour as it's the first long-haul trip for my gal and would like to make it enjoyable for her. Also a 1st trip to Perth for hubby and I. However, I think I'm suffering from a case of "info overload" as I'm kinda confused abt my choices of accomm....More

Thanks thanks PerthiteOz for your comments! Really really appreciate it! Gosh, I feel rather silly now, coz I was actually thinking I've planned a pretty slow and relaxing trip for my family. I had a hard time resisting all the nice trips outside of Perth (i keep telling myself we'll be back!) just so that we could focus on spending our time properly at the attractions I've selected. But I've been so wrong! Will take your advice and relook our day 2 and 3. I honestly would like us not...More

Here is what i have planned and would appreciate any feedback, or suggestions of places which i shouldnt miss :-) Day 1, Sat- Arrive in Perth at 6.25am. Pick up car at airport and check in apartment at Riverside. Since it's the first day, decide to take it slow and explore the Kings Park and the city Day 2, Sun - Freemantle. Visit Freemantle Prison (is it worth going?), weekend...More

I suggest only one wildlife park, and I'd go for Caversham. I highly recommend Lamont's for lunch (Swan Valley), but they're only open Thurs-Sun, so that's a consideration. Some of the larger wineries (Oakover, Houghton) serve meals most days. Penny Garden is open most days too - I've not eaten there, but have heard it's good, and the bonus is that they're right next door to Yahava Koffeeworks (wonderful coffee). I sincerely doubt you'll fit AQWA into Day 3, as it's in the opposite...More
