As of a few days ago The Flinders Chase Visitor Centre has burned to the ground in the horrific bushfire that's been raging in the Flinders Chase National park. It will be rebuilt in time. Terribly sad and devastating. And most of the end of KI. Please if you are a tourist, do not come to Kangaroo Island, check out the news. You are not needed or wanted over there atm. Not in a mean way either. Two lives have been lost as of this morning near Parndana sadly. There is ash and embers falling from the sky. Please keep away. Southern Ocean Retreat had also been lost to as have many other dwellings and businesses. If you want to help in anyway you can by looking up a way to donate. Goodbye The Flinders Chase Visitor Centre.

Until they rebuild, just buy your food and drink from somewhere on the way. When they rebuild, go nuts and buy up big.

Flinders Chase National Park is stunning and there is walks to suit everyone. The paths are really well sign posted and informative and each of the attractions are unique. If you want a bit more adventure in a shorter walk take the track to Snake Lagoon... you will be rewarded with a pretty special experience at the end

After the devastation of the bushfires in January 2020, and then the COVID-19 pandemic wiping out tourism - I was worried about coming here but so glad we did. To see the regeneration of such a beautiful place after such tragedy is an amazing privilege to have. Please go. Please support KI. And please care for this beautiful country of ours.

We were fortunate to visit Flinders Chase before the devastating bushfires. In spite of the fires it will still be a great place to see and support the local communities. There are spectacular coastlines The Remarkable Rocks was the favourite place for our teenage Grandson, Kelly Caves, Cape Willoughby, the list goes on. The bush will recover so please visit Flinders Chase and the rest of Kangaroo Island

A visitor center like all others. Yes, plenty of information, also plenty of fairly high priced items in their tourist shop, but nice cafe with tasty food items.
