Visit and tasting at Michel Gonet
May 2021 • Friends
Very informative and welcoming visit with our guide Nicolas. He explained us the entire production process: showing the caves, cuves and bottling area. The true highlight of the tour was the tasting at the end. Nicolas had so many family stories to tell. Truly shows how invested he in sharing his knowledge.

Excellent champagne house
Jul 2017 • Couples
Extensive tasting of many different house styles. Wife and winemaker provided much information as well as pointers on how to obtain their champagne in the US. Bought two bottles of 2005 as gifts to hosts.

Lovely tasting in a beautiful location
Mar 2017
Our guide Clément from Instants Tours brought us to this lovely spot for some champagne tasting during our tour in March. The service could not have been more welcoming and informative, and we loved the champagne. Avenue de Champagne in Épernay should not be missed!

Champagne tasting and cellar tour
Aug 2016 • Couples
We had an absolutely wonderful few hours tasting champagne with Michel on his beautiful estate, he is a real gem! We were looking for an experience that was not in the Avenue Champagne in Epernay and Avize is only a 5 minute drive from Epernay. I cannot recommend it more. A big Thank You to Michel!

Perfect

By far the best champagne area experience. We went there because this house was on the open house list (provided by the tourism page) for that day. We have no idea about size or the name of this house. So as day was closing to the end, we decide to travel straight from Hautvillers to Avize. We came to the house, nothing, silence, only lawnmowers sound, saw a big dog and decide to retreat. But then other travelers arrived and they bravely went to the house and rang the bell. Housewife opened doors and guided us towards the garden. And there he was, the old man was doing lawn moving in his 80’s. That’s was the boss of the house monsieur M.Gonet. After that we were guided by him inside the` house in huge visitors room on top floor, were some vine and champagne stands were displayed. Seemed to me that the monsieur M.Gonet was happy to have a break, so we spend nice two hours sipping/tasting champagne, listening him and discussing different points about champagne, world and history. Because we had another plans for evening and so other family too, we were the ones who initiated the farewell. But not so fast, we went to cellar and got another 30min tour. He speaks good English.
Thank you monsieur M.Gonet for letting us in and hosting us at your house.

P.S. House rules - if you by at least 6 bottles, tasting is for free. Otherwise 15EUR per person.
