Wonderful views and enjoyable walk
Nov 2015
I was taken here by my hosts who know I like climbing mountains! After a 90 minute drive here we were told that it takes about 2 hours to go up and then the same to return. Therefore we went for lunch beforehand. Private cars are not allowed up the mountain. You have to take an official bus which goes up the mountain, stopping at various attractive walks by streams, waterfalls, etc en route. The scenery of the mountains and trees were brilliant. When we went, snow and ice prevented the buses going all the way to the cable car which takes you to the top. We walked about 40-50 minutes. It was well worth the effort. We took the cable car to the top and the views were fantastic. A very enjoyable day.

Disappointing end to a stunning hike
Oct 2014 • Family
We enjoyed our time in Taibai National Park, however, be aware that if you are a foreigner, you will be unable to reach the summit. Personally, I think it is a disgrace, at about 3300m (after they've charged you for everything that they possibly can)... all foreigners are turned back. They even have a sign - No foreigners allowed, Chinese Only.

I wonder what the average Chinese would say if we put a sign outside Sydney Opera House.. No Chinese allowed, or near the peak of Mt. Cook in NZ... This is a real national shame, this mountain is beautiful and they even market the area as an "International Resort and Recreation Zone," it is certainly not an international audience they want.

I live in China, love China and it's people - this certainly makes a dreadful impression. I'll never go back and would certainly be encouraging friends not to go. They charge the same price for all, but as a foreigner, you are stopped short. Sorry, it's disgusting.

Spectacular View!
Oct 2013 • Couples
Taibai Mountain at 3,767 metres above sea level is the highest peak of the Qinling Mountain Range. Located in the Meixian County and at the northern foothills of Baoji City of Shaanxi Province, it is a natural botanical garden and a well-known place of Taoist worship. It offers spectacular views of its surroundings and autumn colours of its numerous flora and fauna, and trees, especially in October. The cable car brings visitors to a level of 3,000 meters before they can trek further up the mountain. If lucky we can experience snow if the it were to rain the day before!
