Well spent day
Worth every Norwegian krona, it was just splendid!!!!
The dogs first and foremost were phenomenal, they are simply the best, the dogs were all cuteeeeee, friendly, enthusiastic, strong, happy and hardworking....., I must add they very very professional. It was a splendid day being a musher
The staff were awesome too, the lead staff (I’m embarrass to say I remember all 5 of the dogs on my sled and forgot the name of the lead guide/staff) however he is from Belgium and he was awesome, he was thorough in teaching us how to treat and relate to the dog and all the safety tips in mushing. At first I was terrified but after the first 5-10 minutes I wanted to be a musher for an eternity

We took the bus from Oslo bus terminal and it took us straight to Beito husky tours, I would say about 3.5hours, we did the tour, had a meal which was included, then we were taken by the group to get the bus back to Oslo. Long day but a phenomenal day
It’s an experience you should not miss in Norway

Very kind, friendly, hard working and loyal. We put so much effort on keeping them happy and healthy! We send you warm regards from Norway and hope you and your closest ones are staying healthy. Hopefully will see you again in future. Kind regards from all of us at Beito Husky Tours.

My family and I did the evening tour and it was fantastic fun! We sled around on and next to the lake under the starry sky, and afterwards we had hot food and drinks around the fireplace.

The scenery was beautiful and the dogs where super-friendly. The staff were nice and also patient when we wanted to stay around the fire a little longer. The instructions at the start were clear and easy to learn.
My only complaint though is that the guide could've given more encouragement and proper advice when we were stressed and struggling with the breaks instead of just going "a 7 year old was able to keep the breaks down". I know it was supposed to mean "someone much lighter could do it so it's not about weight" but that wasn't of any help because it didn't tell me how use the breaks more effectively. Also, going "a child could do it" is never helpful advice.
In short, he was good at giving initial instructions, but could get better at helping struggling guests during the sled ride.

I would still greatly recommend this tour! It's absolutely worth the prize. Both for the dogs, the campfire, and especially the sledding experience! Just remember to layer up because even with two pairs of socks my toes were frozen by the end :p.

I so loved doing this. I went out with June as our guide in the led sledge. She gave clear instructions, had an excellent bond with the dogs and made us feel safe. There were two 2 man sleds. I was travelling solo and they matched me up with a group of three so were were all able to go out.

I was initially a passenger and then a musher. We had Apache, Mohawk, Dosan, Arctic, Skidoo and Simba puling is. The dogs were incredibly affectionate when we greeted them. They jumped up a little but also warmly received stokes and hugs and belly rubs. They were amazing on the trip and whilst it was a little hard on the bottom over some of the bumps as a passenger and a little tricky up the hill and in deep snow as a musher there was nothing I would change.

It was a little cold over the lake - I recommend taking the jumpsuits offers, both as protection from the dogs jumping up and licks of affection and also for the cold.

If you get the chance - do it! I hope you will not be disappointed. I was not!!

We had a wonderful evening with our guide Jan.
First we were given warm overalls and winter boots and then we got to meet the huskies. All the dogs were super friendly and absolutely in need of cuddles 😊
There were about 50 dogs and all of them were very well looked after!

We then picked out the dogs for the sleigh ride together with Jan and were then allowed to put them on a leash ourselves. You need strength and steadfastness here 😂
But Jan helped at all times.

After a professional introduction to sleighing, we set off, armed with headlamps.
The tour led across a frozen lake under a full moon, into a picturesque forest and after about an hour of sleighing, we set up camp there for a break.
By the campfire and stories about dog sled racing, we were served sandwiches and hot dogs over the fire and hot drinks and cookies.

After the dogs had taken a short break, we went back through the forest and across the frozen lake.
We helped Jan clean the sleds and put the dogs back in their enclosures and ended the evening in the in-house souvenir shop 😊.

Our guide Jan was a real professional when it came to dealing with the dogs and was able to provide us with a lot of information.
The equipment was in great condition and the tour was simply unique!
We can recommend Beito Husky Tours to anyone without reservation!

We had a great experience with this company. They love the dogs. It was a great day when we arrived because if the weather is too warm the tour is cancelled so we where very lucky!
You can help with the dogs aligning them to the sleighs. The dogs were very enthusiastic that day, because they have not gotten out a few days bcs of the weather. We had an extra trip because the dogs enjoyed themselves so much. You can steer the sleigh yourself with one passenger. Sometimes you have to give the dogs a little help :-)
Highly recommend it!

Fantastic day trip from Oslo!!

We had booked a Husky Sledge trip with transport from Oslo and back. Unfortunately, on the day, there hadn’t been enough snow for the original plan however, we were offered the option of cancelling and getting a refund or doing a buggy tour instead. We choose to go ahead with the buggy tour and are so glad we did!!

It poured with rain the entire day but the amazing dogs and guide made the day wonderful! The dogs are so happy, friendly and so loved! We enjoyed lots of wet dog kisses and even had the opportunity to walk with the puppies and help with feeding etc. after our buggy ride.

The whole process, from booking through to the day, was easy and everyone we had contact with (both in person and via email) was so lovely and helpful!

It was unfortunate that we couldn’t get into the snowy mountains but the day was utterly wonderful and we’d recommend to anyone and everyone!

What a wonderful experience this was. We did an overnight stay in one of their cabins which was a real experience with no electricity or running water. They supplied a delicious food hamper which gave us enough to make an evening snack plus a cooked breakfast. Being in the snow in a cabin with nothing around was magical.
In the afternoon we were taken dog sledding and got to be the musher which was a fantastic experience and such a long ride. Following this we were given a reindeer soup and hot drink which was prepared on a wood fire in the snow. The following morning we put on snow shoes and hiked around the lake with our guide to do some ice fishing. The preparation for this was an experience again and although we didn’t catch any fish we were given a delicious salmon soup and hot drink again prepared on the wood fire in the snow at the edge of the lake. This weekend was a once in a lifetime experience that surpassed our expectations.

Amazing trip, truly enjoyed the experience. Would probably stay over in beitostolen at the Radisson Blu Mountain Hotel when travelling from Oslo as the 4hr bus journey each way is a long day. Spend time in the area as it looked beautiful in the snow.

Thank you very much for your top review! We're happy to hear you had a good time with us. It's definitely a good idea to stay overnight in Beitostølen, when traveling from Oslo for the dog sledding tour. Sending you warm regards from Norway. Welcome back!

Beautiful experience that I highly recommend everyone to do. The guides are very nice and very hospitable. The wonderful and sweet dogs can't wait to leave to take you sleighing. The experience is very beautiful because it begins with getting to know the dogs, preparing the sleds and then the ride which lasts about an hour in the enchanting grove and frozen lake. Knowledge of a minimum amount of English is required to understand the instructions given before leaving. I recommend to everyone!

After our pick-up at the hotel we drove to the kennel at Beito and got to know our guide for this week expedition. His name is Lucas, he is french but a world traveler and adventurer.
We left the kennel for a 5 day husky expedition in the wonderfull mountains of the Jotunheimen region. Lucas loves the dogs and like to share his knowledge with his guests. Each night we stopped at a local wildernisscabin for the night. After taking care of the dogs we lit the fire and installed us for the night. Three times a day Lucas prepared a wonderfull breakfast or lunch or diner ! He is a true wilderness Chef !
The final night we slept in a tent in the middle of the park. Temperatures dropped to -20C but the cosyness and candle light made it all up to a very warm night.
Thank you Lucas an d the rest of the Beito Husky team.
