Peaceful monastery. Beautiful place to stop for 30 mins. Other reviews are accurate.
Our daughter who was wearing a loose T shirt and shorts was politely asked to wear one of their robes provided at the door way. The sign regarding this is a bit ambiguous- so be prepared.
Worth a visit. We walked up from the beach on a footpath which was lovely.

Beautiful little monastery in a stunning location. The inside of it as lovely murals on the ceilings. Well worth a visit if in the area.

This little Orthodox monastery is an absolute hidden gem on the Montenegro coastline. Overlooking the Adriatic sea, this monastery / church complex has some of the most stunning collections of old and modern frescoes that I have ever seen. The main church is covered wall to wall with portraits of heroes of Serbian and Orthodox Christian history, simply has to be seen to be believed. The adjacent smaller churches also have much older frescoes that are clearly damaged but still visible and equally impressive.
There is little to no information about the Church available once inside and that's probably because it's a 'living' complex and not a museum. All the paintings and signages are in Cyrillic script and the Church gift shop is fronted by a very nice nun who speaks no English but is very helpful - she was very pleased we bought an icon of Saint Sava. This is clearly not a tourist oriented attraction, which would explain why there are usually all of 5 cars in the parking lot and very few reviews in English on tripadvisor. However, given that it is literally 100 m off the main coastal road in Montenegro, not too far from Budva, there are no touts helping with parking, no masses of tour buses and entry is absolutely free, I see no reason why one shouldn't take out 20 minutes to visit this absolute gem.

A small monastery in a beautiful location high above the sea. Exquisitely painted interior, typical of Orthodox churches.

We approached by taking the coastal path from Petrovac which is well worth doing. There is a monstrosity of a half built abandoned hotel complex towards the end of the walk but this did not spoil the outing. The small church was lovely to visit.

A beautiful little monastery beside the road to Petrovac. We just enjoyed to walk around there and see the little church and beautiful surroundings.

I drove to this small monastery by car. It would have been a good walk from my Petrovac hotel. There is sufficient free parking. The areas open to visit are interesting.

Hikers, You do have to go thereto and take the pedestric road from the main road to Petrovac, Not so a long walk (abt. 1,30 H) but with authentic yougoslavian views and you pass a lovely beach. One minus a 17 stages hotel under construction - but stopped after 2 years - close your eyes for this...
