Take a car out to visit the many beautiful sights along the Marin Headlands. The views are wonderful along the roads .Lots of trails you can pull over and hike as well. There are little sandwich shops along the way full of charm . Full day out of the city and well worth your time.

We had a last minute personal trip that required we stay at a clean, Well appointed room at a reasonable price near the Churn Creek exit on I 5. The service at Super 8 Churn Creek was very friendly, helpful, and prompt with our late check-in and various requests. They serve a Continental breakfast that was nice with their waffles,... More

It's located just north of the Golden Gate bridge, and on the way to Sausalito we stopped here to enjoy the beautiful views. When the weather is great, this can't be beat.

Great mixture of hiking and biking here. We saw a giant California condor -- truly amazing. Love the mix of hills, beach, flatland around the lagoon. Bring water!

This is what the San Francisco looked like hundreds of years ago. It's stunning and untouched shoreline. Views of the ocean and the hills as far as the eye can see. Worth the drive.

provides the best views of the city and GG Bridge. Take cab or rental car to the lowest viewpoint and the highest. Well worth the expense to get there via car.

Wear comfortable shoes, take a lunch, bring a camera and dress in layers. This is my main advice to enjoying the Marin Headlands. The temperature alters so quickly from one second to the next but if you are prepared you will take away days full of memories in only a few hours. It is truly a rugged fairy land. Run... More

The view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the lookout at the north end of the bridge is fabulous but it's not anything like the vista from up above on the Marin Headlands. If you have access to a car you must make a side trip to the headlands area and hike some of the trails. Not only will you... More
