Beautiful area. We drove up to Heavenly on a recent trip to Lake Tahoe. It is massive with a huge maze of condos and lodging. It must be an absolute zoo in ski season. Didn't really see a main lodge. It was kind of confusing....More
My dad found this and thought it was a cool idea. First the gondola was fun and great views. They have a observation deck half way up to take some great pictures and views of the lake. We got the all day activity band which...More
We bought the 4 person pass for the gondola and unlimited activities. The mountain coaster the only activity that I knew that we HAD to do. We arrived at 9 AM, shortly after opening and rode the coaster 5 times. It was a blast!
You are in heavenly mountain resort. Go up in the gondola and reach the epic discovery center. Enjoy a ride on the roller coaster and than the tube ride. After that if you are into ziplining, go for it. Than do the rope climbing activity....More
5 of us including a 3 year old took a day on the mountain. We bought the adventure pass and it was worth every cent. We all had a lot of fun on the tubing hill, zoomed round corners on the mountain coster, had a...More
First, the gondola ride was spectacular. DEFINITELY make the stop at the observation deck, as the views were amazing. Unfortunately, the mountain coaster (which was a top draw for my crew) wasn't working. Although they did give us some money off the combination pass, they...More
My family of four spent the day utilizing the Adventure Pass recently and came away thinking it could've and should've been so much better of an experience (especially given the $300+ price for four). The atmosphere and scenery are second to none and the staff...More
I’ll start by saying that the Alpine slide was not working and we weren’t told until AFTER we had purchased the Ultinate Adventure Pass. But, to be fair, they did give us the zip lines at a discounted rate. In my opinion, the Adventure Pass...More
The resort has plenty of family fun! After a scenic ride up the gondola you arrive to find activities for all ages. They have a ropes course and zip lines for kids and adults! The expedition Jeep ride took you up to the top of...More

I can say that there's really nothing like that at Heavenly (or any other Tahoe area ski resort). Guides in the Tahoe area are pretty much only for the backcountry, which could be fun for him if he's able to ski a wide variety of terrain, but probably wouldn't make a worried mom feel better, as the backcountry is inherently dangerous (hence the need for guides!).
If he's game, I wouldn't hesitate to sign him up for an all day group lesson. I've been skiing for nearly 40 years and even raced in college, but I take 2-5 full day ski lessons every season. I learn something new each time and, as an expert skier, I often find myself in a group class of one, as there's a lot less expert skiers looking for lessons.
If he's not interested in lessons and intent on skiing while y'all do other stuff, I'd point him to other Tahoe area resorts. Heavenly's layout isn't conducive to easy navigation or even trying to be done and back at a base at a specific time.
I think a mountain like Homewood, Sierra at Tahoe, or even Mt Rose would give him a "big mountain" experience, unlike Wisconsin, without the confusing map, extreme terrain, and, frankly, high cost, of Heavenly.

Sorry I don’t know the answer to your question , what I can tell you is just to get a ticket for the Gondola it’s first some first serve so I planned it out where I got there right when they opens the next morning , because the day before they said it sales about fast.if you plan to do your group up in Heavenly ski area the Gondola is the only way up there , it’s it’s a one round trip that’s cost us 54$ each, once up there I’m sure they can accommodate a group
