Must Try Coracle Ride
Sep 2021 • Solo
Sanapur Lake is quite serene ,peaceful and the views are just great. I tried Coracle Ride at this lake. This is a total different experience in itself. The prices depend all on your negotiations. It costed me 300 bucks for the solo ride of 5-10 mins. You can negotiate better if you are in a group.

Placid Waters of Sanapur Lake
Oct 2020 • Couples
Near to Hampi this Sanapur Lake is something different than Hampi landscape. Placid Waters and serene atmosphere soothes the soul. One can opt for boating in Coracles for a different kind of experience. Rocks and Boulders on the periphery of the lake adds to its charm. It's a must place to visit for an avid traveler.

Must inculde in your Hampi iterenary !
Aug 2019
We spent a few hours at this Sanapur Lake- looks like an artificial one as the water from Tunga has been blocked and retained. There is a road in the middle and coracle rides available on both sides.

Good place to bring in some picnic atmosphere if you plan from Hampi.

The boat ride on the unique boat is a must!
Jun 2019 • Family
I absolutely loved the beauty, serenity and peace at the Sanapur lake. Probably not a very frequented place by travellers, but it's a must! The lake is amazing, there is no commercial activity, and it feels like you're right in the lap of nature. The best part is the unique boat ride that must be taken here - they are not your ordinary boats and will provide you with a cute little adventure!

Natural beauty of Hampi
Sep 2018
While Hampi is famous for its unesco heritage group of monuments, it's natural beauty is equally breathtaking. You will find this lake on your way from central hampi to north Hampi. it's beautiful.

Calm, Beautiful Place

On the other side of Hampi, Sanapur lake is about 3 km. Hire a bicycle or a small moped and visit the lake. There are barricades to stop people from getting to the lake. I did see some unused boats on the eastern side of the lake. Without visiting Anegundhi, Sanapur lake itself has quite a charm and offers a bit of change of scenes from the ruins of Hampi.

Wonder Lake!
Feb 2019 • Friends
A big lake in the hippie island of Hampi. If you think Hampi is only for the history lovers, you haven’t been to the hippie island on the other side of the tungabhadra river. It’s mostly famous as a foreigners ‘chill point’ with guest houses and restaurants serving ‘Firangi’ cuisine with a lot of ‘Indian’ love 😅. However if u take a bike on rent and start exploring the island, it will give you enormous memories of nature in its full swing😊 while on your trip you can visit this huge lake called Sanapur Lake. Try visiting this place either early morning or evening.. it’s a treat to watch. You can also go for coracle rides worth INR 100 / head.

One of the most scenic stretches for a lazy bike ride!
Oct 2018 • Friends
Sanapur lake is synonymous to its coracle (boat) rides. It's an experience worthy of your time even if its at noon like the time I went with my cousin. There were no other boats to mar our view or that of our photo sessions. It was beautiful! The landscape was just amazing. All those huge boulders and we even got on one that was like an island so that we could click pictures on the coracle with just one person in it pretending to oar. For those worried about motion sickness, the water is still and calm so there's nothing to worry about. If the boats-man starts spinning the boat, you could ask him not to do that then.

The tiny road winding in between the lake is just the best if you want to take go-pro videos. The lush greenery stood in contrast to the huge boulders. This drive through is one of the best part of the trip. Totally in love with hippie island side of Hampi. This part of town is nice to stay in for a few days to soak in the greenery of the paddy fields and the unique terrain of the huge boulders all over the place. The lake per se is not known to swim in but there are certain spots where we found people swimming in and sun bathing. I'd suggest one spend a sunset by Sanapur lake. Though I can't imagine how crowded it be at that time. And people claim there are crocodiles in the water. Not sure how true that is. A lot of locals refuted their presence. There are no shops close by. So it'd be nice to load up on water, snacks and other refreshments on the way.

Fabulous sight

This such a gracious sight. Swimming is not allowed in this reservoir lake, but one can go bating in a basket shaped coracle boat
