We visited today as a family with 2 boys (6 & 9). We decided to do the Summer Trail for the kids (£3 trail sheet from the cafe as the visitor centre was closed). The kids had great fun following the clues and we enjoyed the walk. We got a bit confused at one point but pointed ourselves in the general direction and managed to complete the trail. The boys returned to the cafe for their prize, which they are still very happy to have received! The lady who handed them out was very helpful and friendly - the boys are now very excited to return for the next event. (Half term Halloween fun, hopefully). We then took a quick walk down to the river where the kids splashed around in their wellies. A great (and cheap) day out. We will return :)

Was here on Wed 19th July after visiting the lovely Lavender Fields , they provided free parking so we walked down to Lullingstone Park .. we walked into the centre , the shop was cluttered , the cafe menu was minimal and expensive , and the staff looked like they didn’t want to be there ! This park has slid right downhill ! Outside you can sit on a table surrounded by smelly toilets and the car park is overgrown .. a once lovely place ruined ! .. we walked back up to Castle Farm and had a lovely drink there ..

Another afternoon, time to visit another country park, and today was the turn or
LULLINGSTONE!!!

We drove through Eynsford, a picturesque perfect location, and down a country lane to the country park of Lullingstone.

We pay and display £1.50, which was not bad for the afternoon and we started the riverside walk down to Lullingstone Castle, as I always do download a map for your peace of mind, as you arrive at the castle, you can visit we declined on this occasion and carried on the path towards the Lullingstone Roman Villa, if you want to visit the villa,at the time of our visit, you have to pre book, we on the other hand marvelled at the stunning viaduct that cuts across the skyline before climbing the hill path up in the hay fields for another stunning vista over the darenth valley see by my picture the wonderful view.

Your path then snakes along the edge of Lullingstone Golf Course, before crossing the fairway to the 18th hole, alas you may be needing light refreshments, but carry on won’t be long before your back at the car park by the visitor centre.

So as I was saying you then cut across the third fairway of the nine hole course before walking down through covered woodland all the way back to the car park.

You will be welcomed by the visitor centre and playground, looking for the outside the visitor centre and playground caters for all walks of life but we declined on this occasion and got back in the car to head home.

So In summary,if your at a LULL !! Visit the Country Park at Lullingstone a lovely walk to pass a couple of hours !!!!!

Beautiful, stunning walks. Well worth visiting BUT, marred by the extortionate parking fees unless you are going for the whole day.

My son and I took the dog for a "cool" evening walk a couple of days ago. We arrived about 6.30pm-7pm but had to pay a whole days parking fee! The gates are shut at 8pm even though we are in the height of summer!

I also noticed that at the weekends and bank holidays...when the children are not at school, the parking fees go up. This is shameful and in poor taste and sheer greed. Shame on you Sevenoaks District council.

It was our first visit to this park and I must say that I loved it. Some parks I have been to, the signage for the walks are poor at best, but not here.

There are a fair few walks you can do, with different distances and terrain. We particularly liked the loop walk which is just short of 6.5 kilometres (4 miles). The walk takes you up through the park around the back and through the golf course. Later on you pass the site of the old roman villa and Lullingstone Castle, and the views are lovely.

There are shorter walks and a discovery trail for children which they will love.

Dog walking is permitted, there have been some previous reviews saying that the walks and grass had a lot of dog mess, but we did not notice hardly any, and we walked nearly 10 miles in total.

The car park is reasonably priced, £1.50 weekdays, and £2.50 at the weekend. The cafe is nice, although I did think the prices there were a bit high, might just be me though.

Plenty of picnic benches in the park, or take a blanket and find a place when you walk round.

Park area/ views are lovely and walks are nice around the park and Castle area .. however Cafe disappointing! Only filter coffee available and no date on Sandwiches .. inside looked like a bring and buy sale with stuff on tables , the toilets were a bit smelly and dirty looking with no hand sanitiser ! .. we drove down to Castle Farm to look at the Lavender and there was a lovely Kiosk selling all sorts of coffee and lovely snacks all looked very pretty , I suggest you visit there it’s lovely !

Let me put it this way - who installs a Pay by App parking system in a mobile internet dead spot? (Hint - Kent County Council).

Only one of two Pays and Displays machines were working. The one which was working was almost impossible to use because it was positioned so that the sun made the instruction screen impossible to use. Eventually there were several families crowding around the machine trying to work out how to use it. Somebody came up with a message and we were able to pay. (I notice that other reviewers were caught out and stuck with penalty charges.) This is not acceptable for a place where families want to enjoy the countryside.

Oh, and I have encountered sewerage farms that smelled less than the toilets.

The walk was pleasant though.

The park itself is a great place to explore especially if you have a dog. Miles of footpaths and bridleways, suitable for all abilities. We are local so use the park regularly and my partner participates in the weekly Parkrun.
It's just such a shame that the cafe is a huge disappointment, considering a major user of the park is dog walkers, the facilities are poor. No dogs allowed inside and the outside area has little shelter and the benches are in poor condition. On top of this the standard of the food has dropped and the coffee is barely lukewarm, not good when you're forced to sit outside in the cold.

Cakes are lovely, unfortunately the advertised hours are incorrect. I went at 3pm the other day and it was closed. All info I can find says 10-5pm every day? Prices have also just been raised again making it rather pricey for what you get. £5.60 for a small panini with a few crisps and a salad garnish 😬 Hot food often not available.
