I had an amazing time here, all the employees were very polite and knowledgeable about the snakes and other reptilians, the animals all looked well fed and cared for, the owner even informed me on how to take care of a snake and what a good first pet snake is, there were tons of variety's of snake venomous and not, the owner let me hold many non venomous snakes including the two headed corn snake, I cant wait to come back and will definitely recommend it to friends.

Everything in Brevard/Asheville seems to revolve around drinking beer, riding mountain bikes, and countless shops all selling the same “Happy Camper” coffee mugs. Everything, that is, except for Serpentarium Magic. First things first: They are NOT open every day. You’ll need to give them a call and they’ll open by appointment. They seem to be open on the weekends, though. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but there’s plenty to see inside. The owner is really knowledgeable about snakes and reptiles, and you can tell he’s pretty passionate about running this place. When I visited, it looked like the second floor was being renovated. Even so, there was plenty to see on the first floor. The baby alligator was adorable and is a relatively new addition, having been captured locally last fall. Folks, if you’re looking for good family fun that involves the real world, and not some tablet, look no further than Serpentarium Magic.

There are lots of snakes and reptiles on display. The owner is welcoming and provides information on the animals.

There is an opportunity to touch or hold a few of the snakes.

We enjoyed the visit - fun for adults and children alike.

We planned to visit here with our grandson and had checked the reviews and website several days ahead of time. Before driving there, I checked the website again to make sure they were open on a Sunday afternoon. The website indicated they were. We drove over only to find a little note on the door saying they were closed and wouldn't be open for several more weeks. So it clearly wasn't a last minute emergency that took the owners away. This was a big disappointment for our grandson, an inconvenience to us, and very unprofessional to not update the website with such important information. So, we never saw inside. The two star rating is for poor customer service.

Recently visited with my boyfriend. I’m a reptile owner and enthusiast. I had fun checking out all the different snakes but I was severely disappointed by the condition in which the snakes were kept. Their water was dirty and their terrariums looked rarely cleaned. In addition, the enclosures were much too small for each snake or lizard. There were three leopard geckos in a 10 gallon, 10 gallons is already too small for just 1 gecko.
I also noticed that some enclosures had mites. I believe the owners have the best intentions but their reptile room and even front desk were in disarray.
This just looks bad on the reptile community. Reptiles are viewed as stinky, dirty, and Unkept animals. But in reality they have the ability to be quite beautiful and amazing. This place has a lot of potential but they need to step up and provide their animals with appropriate habitats. Add some hides and foliage. Clean the cages every 2 weeks. And provide them with clean water daily.

Our seven year old granddaughter entered "afraid of snakes." She came away, after holding them, confident and knowledgeable. The Magic there is in seeing children (and adults) so energized by the experience. Clean and healthy snakes (and other reptiles) from around the southeast and the world were easy to observe. Some even seemed playful. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and fair admission prices had this visit exceed expectations; a must visit.

Our Kindergarten students were scheduled to have a field trip here. When they arrived with 90+ 5 year olds on buses, no one was there. The door was open and the field trip was showing on the desk calendar. After 20-30 minutes of waiting, the teachers left with the disappointed children.

We visited here a couple of years ago and was very impressed by the selection of snakes on display. Returned recently and discovered that most of the snakes are no longer on display. I believe he said there were around 50 on display (first time was close to 200). The owner was running the shop during our visit and was a super nice person to talk with. I got the impression that the serpentarium has become a hobby for him instead of a business. Still worth a stop if you are nearby

This place has more snakes than I imagined. You can spend a good hour looking at them all if you like to take your time. Many different types, native and not, venomous too.

Mostly snakes of various types plus a few lizards and a tortoise and a caiman. Lots to explore and view. There is a 19 foot boa and a multitude of venomous snakes including rattlesnakes, vipers added, pythons, and others. Allow at least an hour but expect it to take longer ger to view everything.

Very personable owner will answer your questions.
