We were there before the salmon began running, but still found the entire facility and it's mission very interesting. Lovely location, scenic river spot with dam nearby. Young man working was very cordial and full of interesting facts and information.

The fish ladder is a very important component to Whitehorse. There is lots of important history, and there is a good effort to make tours here educational and fun. However, the tour itself is very short, and a lot of the information is slightly too hard to grasp younger children. There are areas to observe fish, and microscopes, and there... More

very informative, awesome staff (very patient with small, energetic kids). there's lots to see, both inside and out, and that's not even checking what fish are going through the ladder that day!

Love that little place. Just walk or bike the millenium trail and you'll reach it ! Simple but great installation to understand the life cycle of salmon and to actually see trough the 2 big windows, big salmon migrating. Don't miss the walkway to the "cage" where you actually stand over the dam and you can have a glimps of... More

The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were greeted enthusiastically and told to check out the salmon which were in the holding tank. Also witnessed a salmon sort. They took a lot of time to explain all about what they do there and the hatchery program. Entrance by donation ($3 suggested)

We were on a Holland America Tour-Cruise and in Whitehorse. We enjoyed seeing the fish ladder and hydro-electric plant. It was mid August and there were lots of salmon being diverted around the plant by way of the fish ladder.

Good for a drive and a walk around. The bridge is great. Unfortunately it was closed so we couldn't see much or talk to anyone. If you are going during summer I think you would enjoy it much more. It was pretty in early September

This is a great attraction for families. Entrance by donation. The nearby trail walks are brilliant with interpretive signs about the powerhouse, flora, fauna and the dam. The best spot to take the picture is a steep yet easy climb up the hill at the end of the power house.

Although the salmon run was pretty much over by the time we got there, we were able to get a lot of information from the staff and had the run of the place to ourselves during our visit. There were only 2 lone fish coming through that morning. We were familiar with the salmon runs in the Lower Mainland (BC),... More
