We did the one-night Northern Lights tour with Northern Tales and found our guide to be very professional, knowledgeable, and great at her job. Although we didn't end up seeing the Aurora Borealis, she was wonderful at keeping us "entertained" all evening, by sharing her experiences and knowledge with the group. The location itself seems ideal for viewing, as there is very little light pollution and it provides a broad vista in which to see the night sky, and, if you're lucky, to actually take in the Northern Lights. The company seems very COVID-aware, as they provide hand sanitizer when you get in the vehicle, as well as at the warming hut. You are also required to wear a face mask when indoors, and they limit the number of people allowed on a tour. When you're picked, you're given a reusable shopping bag (thanks for not using plastic!) with lots of snacks! Even though we weren't able to see the Lights, we felt very happy with the quality of the tour and would recommend it to others.

I had a great trip to Whitehorse in the Yukon,Canada. Went up there to hopefully see the Aurora Borealis and experience the local life. The accommodation was well situated, close to lots of good eateries and very comfortable. When it came time to see the Northern Lights we were taken to this big open area 1/2 hour from town away from the city lights. They had these beautiful cosy warming huts (log huts) with a fantastic slow combustion heater, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and assorted biscuits and snacks where you could defrost after standing outside in the cold. There were people to take your photos if you wanted them to, especially handy when there was a good display in the sky. I was extremely lucky that we saw the Aurora on all 3 nights but the second night we had an absolutely fantastic light show that left even the tour people with big smiles on their faces. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed going to the Wildlife Preserve and seeing all the different local animals and having a dip in the thermal pool was a lovely way to end a day out.I have no qualms in recommending this trip. You definitely need warm clothes ie parker and ski pants, gloves, beanie and snow boots, a digital SRL camera and tripod although they did have some tripods available if you needed one. All in all a wonderful experience.

Our draw to Whitehorse was to see the Aurora which during our visit wasn’t the best although we did experience some colour in the sky. We knew that it wasn’t a certainty we’d see it. The trips out to the viewing spot were good fun and as the other comments have said there was good company and warm cabin and campfire to enjoy. Northern Tales also offered a tour of Whitehorse lead by one of their team. It was really fascinating to see the history of the area and particularly the Klondike gold rush. We also had a fantastic day dog sledding, a great experience to drive your own team! The Northern Tales staff were extremely good hosts and were knowledgeable about the area with lots of stories and history.

The viewing site is a big empty field just out of Whitehorse with nice little cabins and outdoor campfires for you to stay warm while waiting for the elusive Aurora Borealis. The tour was very well organized, the cabin was very cozy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful with those who were taking photos. We got lucky and saw a spectacular show, but I know this is not always the case. Overall it was a great experience and I'm glad I got the chance to go with Northern Tales.

I was expecting to only see the northern lights but when I arrived I saw so much more than that. I was able to experience dog sledding, city tour, animal wildlife preserve and hot springs with friendly, knowledgeable tour guides who were so enthusiastic and welcoming. The whole experience was well organised and the guides went above and beyond to ensure you had the best time.
