We stumbled upon this area while out biking. So glad we did. Biking along the lake and watching the sea planes was so cool. Looks like lots of hiking trails too.

Beautiful & Serene

We love seeing all the float planes. There are places to walk along, even if you aren't an experienced hiker. It is a breathtaking place to spend some quiet time, tucked away behind the busy city centre

Good walking trails

The trails are good but not for all. The is an abundance of wildlife and flowers given the different elevations.

This is a great place to go for an afternoon of paddling and exploring. It is not far from town yet quiet and away from traffic.I love this place

Free - Nature at it's best. For you if you like the water or like to hike. Day use only.

The Chadburn Lake Recreation Area, is located just outside of Whitehorse. It was easy to locate, it is on a gravel, well maintained road. This is not suitable for RV’s or large trailers. There were many areas to just pull off and picnic to watch the boats in the Yukon river or the float planes land or take off. There are many lakes that are in the reserve and you can hike or mtn bike to them, trailhead signage along the road. This is a day use area only. There is a boat launch area also. There is signage for hiking trails including all types of winter activities.
How to Get to Chadburn Lake:
Near the SS Klondike (downtown area) cross the bridge over the Yukon River and travel on Lewes Boulevard. Continue on Lewes and then take right onto Nisutlin Road. Continue straight until you reach Chadburn Lake Road. Follow Chadburn for 8 kilometres to the day use park parking lot. Good signage points the way.
