Très belle expérience! Nous avons fait la visite guidée de 60 minutes. Notre guide, Anne, était excellente, merci encore!
Would definitely suggest this activity, the guided tour is worth it, there is so much to learn. Great activity for a rainy day, or a sunny day, great experience all around.

I am not a fan of talking in the morning, so I particularly loved that they observe silence during breakfast. The breakfast buffet consisted of a small number (but plenty!) of delicious vegetarian items. The coffee was very good too and the service was friendly.
The small museum there was interesting. I recommend it for those interested in medical history and/or convent life. Be sure to venture outside to the central courtyard to see the charming garden of healing herbs and plants. It was great to learn about the medicinal uses for each.
The overall setting of the property was quite lovely and peaceful.

Enjoyed all the old this monastere had to offer. I had a massage here - one of the best I've ever had. We had lunch here - wonderful lunch.

We booked the authentic room. Two twin beds with the best pillows ever , which I think you can buy in the shop. So comfy. I slept better than ever here.
The facilities are spotless and for my friend and I we had everything we needed.
There was a sink and towels in out room and outlet for hair tools. There is a blow drier in the shared bathrooms. It was basically like having my own bathroom with a large shower with locked door.
The staff was friendly and accommodating and very helpful in terms of where to get something to eat, arranging transportation etc.

I did the guided tour with Rachel and loved it. She is an incredible guide that knows what she is talking about and she is also interesting. We were a small group, only 4, and we were all very interested about the subject. Since we were asking many questions, the tour lasted 90 instead of 60 minutes. We never got the impression that she wanted to cut us off, on the contrary she offered us to take us to another place if we had time. I highly recommend this visit.

Our tour guide, Rachel, transported us back in time to 1630 when a few plucky Augustine nuns in their early 20's traveled by ship from France to frozen Quebec with the mandate of starting a hospital. The hospital, Hotel de Dieu, is still operational, and the story of the nuns and their impact on the lives of the Quebecois was nothing short of astonishing. The museum, which houses their extensive collection of medical instruments and memorabilia, is first-rate, and the building itself is worth touring. I'd love go back and stay in the new hotel which has opened in part of the former convent.

We were attracted to this monastery when we learned they had a restaurant with good food in a serene setting. Turns out the museum and mastery is a fascinating place with a wonderful spa, great massage and good food. Very much worth a visit especially at lunch time.

A former hospital which has been restored with very interesting exhibits of the monastery's life as a hospital. The nursing sister's holistic and forward thinking approach. Very calm and quiet to visit - well worth it

We stayed 5 nights. The two ladies at reception spoke very good Spanish, which surprised us. We encountered many more elsewhere where we went in Quebec that also spoke Spanish. We learned about the no talking policy at breakfast, which was included in our rate. Typically we discuss our plans for the day during breakfast, but we adjusted fine to the peaceful environment when there. There was enough variety of things to eat to not leave still hungry. There was always a vegetable omelet cut up in small pieces, along with some waffles. There was fruit, some cereals, breads, and other items as well. To drink, milk, coffee, water and I think juice as well. Some 15-25 persons were typically there when it was open. Our rooms were on the 4th floor, and had private bathrooms. Those on the 3rd shared bathrooms. The doors into those rooms were not very high. There was no tv or radio in our rooms. The ceiling of the rooms follow the roof slope, so if you wind up on the side of the bed on the building exterior you might have to watch your head. We visited the museum floors on our own, and it was very interesting. There is a guided tour available. On the grounds there is a space to sit surrounded by trees shielded from area noise. The hotel is in a very convenient location, one short block from the corner of Rue Saint-Jean and Rue de l’Hotel Dieu. About a block away there is also a pharmacy.

Located in Old Québec, the Monastère des Augustines occupies the historic wings of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec monastery (1639), the site of the first hospital on the continent. It's very well kept and has a beautiful collection.
