Nice, not WOW

Nice museum and everyone who worked there was so polite and helpful but the museum itself was not "WOW"

Been there with the kids during their March break. And I have to say that they loved it! They've tried the earthquake experience as well as the tornado simulation and were impressed. They even disguised themselves at the "il était une fois" activity.

A little expensive for my taste ($16 per adult) and not really great exhibits. We went for the Magic in Egypt exhibit and it was pretty basic. The best exhibit we saw had antique carriages and sleighs - THAT was interesting and kind of saved the day for me. Guess it would be good for a rainy day. I wouldn't... More

We spent a memorable two hours at this very impressive site. The stepped design of the museum offers first rate views of the Old Port district. We caught a large and fascinating exhibit on modern dance and movement.

There was a very interesting exhibit from Egypt. I would suggest that you check before going on what exhibits are available.

We visited many museum in Quebec City and they were all very good, but this one was the at the peak of our experiences due to the well-structured design of their exhibits. The exhibits on People of Quebec and Animations were educational and entertaining, but Rebel Bodies about contemporary dance was one of the best I have recently seen. It... More

Large museum that features the accomplishments of civilization. Of course, what makes this museum unique is its exhibit dedicated to Quebec civilization. There is, however, an pretty impressive section of Egyptian art and artifacts.

We popped into this museum as it was opposite our hotel - it was very large with a wide range of different exhibitions. The current Egyptian magic exhibition was superb, beautifully laid out and informative. The shanty town exhibition is interesting and thought provoking - there is also an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative art installation. The weather and... More

The museum is a bit small, and doesn't really live up to its name. With a name like the 'museum of civilization' one expects a lot more. That being said, it's very well kept and not a bad place to spend indoors during a hot summer day. The horse carriage exhibit was my favorite.

Excellent, really worth a visit, did not visit the Egyptian exhibition as we had extensively visited Egypt. A really good insight into the short history of Quebec with many other varied exhibits to explore.
