The darkest years of New France are just around the corner with Promenades Fantomes : The Original Ghost Walking Tour.

In the very heart of old Quebec City, this unique and interactive experience will offer scares, laughs and history. Our friendly and knowledgeable ghostly guides will gladly uncover the darker side of history of the colony, recounting the stories of worst criminals, sentences and even torture practices of the French or English regimes. Meet some of the colony’s worst scoundrels with our interactive street theatre “Crimes in New-France” Discover local superstitions and legends of yore, and visit scenes where death has left its mark with “Legends and superstitions”. On a lighter note, our jolly ghosts invite you to come relive the old Christmas traditions or experience winter as the French settlers did in our tour “Christmas in New-France”.

The executioner Jean Rattier and his wife Marie Riviere summon you, but one question remains: Will you dare to try it?

We had the English version and our Tour guide was excellent. Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but would recommend her to anyone. She played the part very well, and was very good at explaining what happened in the city. This was our first tour and we would definitely do it again. Unfortunately it was raining all night, and she... More

Very fun and interesting facts about the crime and punishment of old Québec. Our guide (Nicholas) was funny and very good at answering all the questions. À very good tour!

We took the Les Promenades Fantomes walking tour this summer, and we loved it! We've been on several ghost tours and this was one of the best. The guide was creepy and engaging; what a great presentation. The stories were all told in first person, and were enlightening and fun. The creepy stroll through the old part of Quebec was... More

My wife and I have done these tours in other cites and had a lot of fun. Here, our ghost John is very hyper to the point of not being funny. The stories told are generic and not specific to Quebec. Three people in our group leave within 30 minutes of the tour starting. I want to leave as well... More

Firstly, I booked and paid for this tour online the night before and received joining instructions by email the morning of the tour. When we arrived at the meeting place, our 'ghost' provided us with badges so she didn't lose any of us and a printed receipt for the payment. I was impressed by how organised everything was. There were... More

My wife and I did the Crime in New France tour last night. The tour was wonderful, Thomas was a great guide, very friendly and easy to understand. The information was very interesting and the walk was mostly downhill and a good pace with frequent stops for stories. We would definitely do a different one of their tours if we... More

Don't bother!! This was awful!!! The character could barely speak English. The whole event was more bother than it was worth. A total waste of time & $$

We had a wonderful time on this tour. The guide was excellent. We had about. 14 people in the tour and our guide could remember everyone by name. Certainly wish I had that kind of memory. This is a walking tour where the guide acts out her part as the wife of the executioner from years gone by. She tells... More

My wife and I booked the Crime and Punishment Tour with Les Promenades Fantômes since we've done these types of ghost walks in different cities and they're always lots of fun. Our guide Marie Rivière (played by Valerie) showed up to meet us on time at the meeting point in full costume and make-up. She emphatically recounted numerous gory tales... More
