The darkest years of New France are just around the corner with Promenades Fantomes : The Original Ghost Walking Tour.

In the very heart of old Quebec City, this unique and interactive experience will offer scares, laughs and history. Our friendly and knowledgeable ghostly guides will gladly uncover the darker side of history of the colony, recounting the stories of worst criminals, sentences and even torture practices of the French or English regimes. Meet some of the colony’s worst scoundrels with our interactive street theatre “Crimes in New-France” Discover local superstitions and legends of yore, and visit scenes where death has left its mark with “Legends and superstitions”. On a lighter note, our jolly ghosts invite you to come relive the old Christmas traditions or experience winter as the French settlers did in our tour “Christmas in New-France”.

The executioner Jean Rattier and his wife Marie Riviere summon you, but one question remains: Will you dare to try it?

Our actress (Valerie) was very animated. The stories are gruesome, so I'm not sure this is great for little kids, but our teens found it interesting and sometimes funny, as did I. We walked a bit, paused in a park or non-busy area, and Marie (Valerie), wife of the executioner, would tell us short stories about crime and punishment. True... More

Fun and entertaining walking tour of the city. Enjoyed the actors. The old French Canadian folk tales were very fun. It was a nice walk throughout the walled city of Quebec. For a good time, I recommend this easy walk.

This was my second experience with this great group of players. We were fortunate to join the Crime and Punishment tour on August 13th. It was pouring rain, but that didn't stop our Jean Rattier from providing an excellent, fun and informative tour. My hats off to him, and all of the wonderful performers who braved the weather, to make... More

A very relaxing walk...both entertaining and educational. The kids loved it. Mathieu and the gang did a great job in keeping us in a good mood!

We opted for the interactive street your at the request of our 14 yr old daughter. Even my 9 yr old so loved it. Our guide was very entertaining, spoke excellent English. The ghosts encountered along the way we're also intriguing. It was a fun way to spend our evening in QC!

I visited Les promenades Fantômes last week and it was very fun! Nicola (this is how our ghost (the person telling histories) was named) told us scary stories from Quebec City like La Corriveau and ways of torture people used back then. My brother and me went last week opting for an English version even if we're locals, french-talking people... More

Took this tour in English, tour guide was engaging and entertaining. The tour took us through parts of Quebec City that we had not seen before. The stories told were interesting and unusual, though often a little gruesome. Overall a fun way to see Quebec City at night.

I took the tour in French but I only have a very basic understanding of French so I did not understand a lot of it but the parts I did understand I enjoyed. I thought that the actors were very animated and had quite interesting costumes! It was an interesting way to see part of Old Quebec and I had... More

It was not at all what we expected. Some funny parts to it but I would not recommend it. The tickets should not be this expensive for something like this.
