The bridge offer a nice view from Montreal Old Port. The view isn't much when you are on the bridge (walk, bike or car). The view is much better when you are NOT on the bridge but watching it from distance.

This is a bridge which connects the city to the mainland (the city being on an island). It isn't particularly spectacular to look at, but it is an important way to get to and from the city. It's not something to make a special effort to experience, but if you want to see it, it is visible from many places in the city.

Loved this bridge - we watched the fireworks over it from a boat on the St Lawrence river. The bridge cost $30 million to build back in the 1930s, then they spent $40 million fitting it with the most extraordinary lighting system in 2017! Made a fabulous backdrop to the firework display.

An impressive and per chance even iconic bridge which links the St Helens offshore island. Well worth seeing and a fairly pleasant trip to get there to boot.
Characterfully designed which complements the whole area.

NO, this is not the bridge that Jacques Cartier took to discover Montreal, it is named after the one who discovers Quebec. Maisonneuve is the founder of Montreal. The bridge has many lights now and it is seen at night. Many renovation have to take place on the bridge every year so if you are crossing be mindful. If you taking your car, this is the bridge that will give you access to Iles St-Helene.

Reminiscent of the Brookyn Bridge, this Bridge symbolized an Era of Technology , Industry and Heavy Steel Bridges. Dominion Bridge , who built it and Champlain Bridge, built bridges like this all over the British Commonwealth having a unique expertise and monopoly at the time in this field. Today, lighter cable-hung bridges have taken the place of this Model. So when I see those 2 Montreal Bridges, it reminds me that obsolescence in anything is inevitable as Humanity progresses. Instead of demolishing the Champlain Bridge, they should convert it into a Bike, Pedestrian and Emergency Vehicle Path. With light loads like that, it can perdure for many more years..the Heavy trucks running across it do most of the damage..from atop of this Bridge..ypou have a Great view of Montreal..ideal in Summer..in Winter , it's just too windy, too unpleasant

This bridge towers over part of the city. You can actually see it from many parts of town. And it carries a lot of traffic. We crossed it. But it is not all that pretty, and there are regular traffic jams.

Lot of bridges here in Montreal, beautiful and not the easiest to maneuver but worth the effort. Enjoyed

This should be the world's networked bridge. It connected the city on the island to the mainland. Particularly impressive at night time with illumination lights on. Better view as viewed at a distance. We took a few on board of the cruise ship.
