This is a historic house and garden in the heart of old Montreal. If you want a history of Montreal this is the place to come, we had a guided tour from a wonderful and really informative guide that used the displays in the house...More

I happened to be staying at an Airbnb that overlooked the garden, beautifully kept, a nice experience to walk around and enjoy the vegetable garden, flowers and herbs. If you go early morning you could enjoy the walk while listening to an opera signer practice...More

This building is pretty from the outside but the inside is a sight to see. Once inside, you are stunned by the beauty and times from the beginning of Montreal. We were concerned that we arrived when there was no tour, but that ultimately proved...More

We spent about 1.5 hours touring this museum. Half of it is about the history of Montreal and the other about life as a colonialist. Very informative and interesting even for teenagers.

I was a little disappointed to find that this is a more traditional museum instead of a house museum, but we still learned a lot about the history of Montreal and the former government residence.

Former governor's mansion .. Beautiful in it's simplicity from the outside - love the grounds as well. Sits right close to City Call

The museum is a pleasant place, the audio displays are informative and one of the rooms, the wood panelled music room, was beautiful, but there was little attempt to capture the sense of a home. Most of the exhibits are in glass cases with many...More
