it is just at the end of the old montreal port, there is nothing specifically special or great about this, you may as well skip it if you do not want to take that short walk to the other corner.

This is a man made beach where there is a charge to enter. It's in a good location in terms of proximity to the marina and also within a short walk to the town centre. But it's not fantastically exciting and the charge alone was enough to put me off !

For anyone who wants somewhere to sunbathe for a couple of hours I suppose it works .... each to their own !

What happens you get hot? An L shaped beach made of sand poured atop a concrete slab. I could some value in it but the absence of water makes it a tough sell.

We visited this for the tower only, not realizing there was a beach there until we got down there. The tower allows you to climb (for free) to the top - about 189 stairs with no elevator. Loved the climb, although it is very tight quarters and passing anyone is a challenge. This wasn't very busy while we were there, and it was a challenge to get up the stairs because it is very tight and when you get to the top observation area there is only enough room for 3 or 4 people at a time, but nowhere to stand and wait (other than the single file spiral staircase). When we arrived at the top there were already 4 people up there so could barely get the door open to enter the area, then promptly left because there was no way to enjoy the views and more people trying to get up into the room. Those people had to back down the spiral staircase to allow the people at the top to come back down. This tower was built long before modern volumes of visitor traffic were considered, so you will have to be very patient if you want to climb all the way to the top and take in the view. I just wish there was some way of indicating how many people were already at the top so you'd know if you should keep climbing or just stop and enjoy the inner-workings of the clock near the top rather than try and crowd more people into the TINY observation room. Definitely worth a visit even to just take a look at the tower and area. The beach/lounge portion of this area looked beautiful, but was all locked due to a labour dispute.

If you are looking for a beach in Montreal, this is it. The best beach in the port, however, you cannot swim because of pollution. They have great sand for kids and great seats with large umbrella

We stayed at the nearby Auberge du Vieux Port and decided to walk along Rue St Paul down to the Notre Dame Bon Secours and then to the clock tower. It was a beautiful walk and I highly recommend it. Seeing the clock tower was a highlight of our trip. Even though it was a little rainy, we didn't mind. The rain added to the romance. The river view is beautiful as well. My partner climbed the steps to the top of the clock tower and she thought the view was worth it, but I was not about to climb all those steps so I waited at the bottom haha.

Clock tower is accessible to the public; clean & maintained; provides history of Montreal port. There are 192 steps which is not recommended for people health issues & heart condition. Below clock tower, we noticed clock tower beach but it was inaccessible for visitors.

The Beach was closed when I went but I decided to head up to the top of the clock tower. OHHHHH what a mistake. I hate heights and the last staircase to the top is dangerous and scary. It's crowded on that last straicase and it's not meant for people to pass. I am sweating again thinking about it. That being said, I did it to get the view. It's very cramped at the top, only about 8 people can cram in, there are bars on the windows, young people trying to take selfies from every possible angle although there is no room. Ugh, so of course being so high up it's a nice little view but wasn't worth it in my opinion.

We found this place by accident at is located a short distance from the historical district where we were walking around. This Old Port of Montreal’s urban beach offers a vacation atmosphere with its fine sand, chairs, and parasols. The Clock Tower Beach offers stunning views of the Jacques Cartier Bridge, Île Sainte-Hélène, Old Montréal, and the city skyline.
