An authentic French neighborhood in Montreal, shopping, groceries, something more like a real neighborhood than Rue Sherbrooke

Had a very European vibe. Some of the best restaurants I ate at in Montreal are located on that street. Has also interesting French (from France?) shops for shopping peppered throughout the street. Very nice.

Laurier street is in the heart of Outremont, an upper-class section of Montreal. Not tons of shops, but really good quality. A few good restaurants as well. Worth going if you have the time.

We love the restaurants, shops and the neighborhood along Laurier. It seems so "non-touristy". There are cheese shops, an olive oil specialty shop, a lovely park - just a fun and relaxing area.

I chose to walk the a good portion of Av. Laurier in the early hours of the morning. Make sure to check out the impressive church as you approach the Park.

A nice stretch of Montreal in Outremount. The stores are charming from clothing boutiques to restaurants offers quite a variety. Nice ambiance, enjoy a stroll and walk over to St. Viateur Bagels.
