My mother and I took the half-day wine tour. Our tour guide Gale was very up-beat, energetic, and knowledgeable. She was able to accommodate English, French, and Spanish-speakers. The 45min drive out to the first winery allowed us to see the surrounding hills and apple orchards. Both wineries gave a small tour outside to see some of the vines and... More

My husband and I took the half day wine tour. The meeting spot was easy to find and conveniently located in the city. Upon arrival our guide took everyone's name and we hopped in a small bus to begin the trio to the vineyards. The guide was wonderfully energetic, patient, and knowledgeable. During the drive out she provided some basic... More

I really enjoyed the full day wine tasting. Our tour guide Pierre Etienne was great and very informative. The food was good but maybe not the most filling meal.As some previous reviewers have mentioned, the trip can get boring at times because everything has to be translated both in English and in French, but I'm not sure how that could... Overall I liked this tour. We went to 3 wineries and got to experience ciders and wines. All the tours at each winery were Good. The lunch wasn't very good. It was meat, cheese, bread, and couscous. The tour was very long over 9hrs including travel (which is only one hour each way with stops). We got back to the... More

My husband and I visit a lot of wineries and we really enjoyed learning about the challenges of growing grapes and the interesting ways that the wine makers are learning to make wine in Quebec. The wine has a different taste - but is good. The scenery was beautiful. Our tour guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Our group tour... More

Great half day, small group tour. Our guide Jean Phillipe was helpful, courteous and energetic. We visited both a small and large vineyard to give you a taste of Quebec winemaking. Highly recommend!

This tour is a great opportunity to see the countryside and taste some wine/ciders produced in Montreal. However I do not think it's worth the $158 (taxes included) dollars AUD we paid. The guide was very polite and gave a well rounded history of Montreal but he was not very helpful when told of food allergies. Upon booking the tour... More

Always looking for different things to do when we travel, and being the wine lovers we are (though hardly wine snobs), we booked a full day wine tour to the Eastern Townships. This is a very well organized venture. We met our mini tour bus just a few blocks from our hotel in Downtown Montreal. There we met Pierre. What... More

For our family group of 3 couples, through Viator I booked a half day "small-group Quebec Wine Tour" from Montreal. They turned us over to Kava Tours who met us with a mini- bus for 25-30 people at the designated time and place at 1 PM returning us at 6. The bilingual guide was knowledgable and excellent. However, the tasting... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
