Our family went on this tour in August 2016, booking was easy and was overall a fun experience. I will say first off, I didn't find this was spooky ghost tour that you would expect. It was more of a sit around the campfire and tell spooky tales while visiting some dark corners of Old Montreal. The hosts are great... More

We are Montrealers and we still have so much to see in our own city. This tour was really nice despite the weather. It was raining really hard and the tour still goes on. The actors are really good and had us captivated from the start.

This walking ghost tour was a great way to experience the city for a few hours at night. Walking around Old Montreal and hearing a variety of stories relating to unfortunate events and the paranormal aftermath that followed was entertaining and our host, Mr. E, was a great guide.

Our guide, Mr. E, did a great job with his story telling. In my opinion the tour was more historical than scary, but it was well worth it. Old Montreal is a treat and it was great to hear about some of the events from the past, many of which you won't read about in your history books.

We really enjoyed this. Our guide was very enthusiastic and good at recounting all of the historical facts. The stories really helped to give the Old Port a reference for us which made it more interesting. We went on streets we otherwise wouldn't have and this gave it a sense of adventure. Our guide had a good, playful sense of... More

We were a group of 5 people,14,22,43,50,51 so a wide age group. Honestly we were all excited to go on this haunted walk. ends up the tour is boring as hell. It's so unfortunate. We were the 1st 5 people to leave the group. More probably left after us, the guests in the group were all so bored as well,... More

Ghost tour of old Montréal was very scary, interesting and informative. We had a great guide who was very expressive and made the stories very creepy. Our entire family enjoyed the tour and seeing the "haunted" sites. This tour could of been perfect, if we were able to enter the sites instead of looking at them. Overall, we would recommend... I was at first skeptical, but this was fantastic. Ghosts of Montreal myths explain the life in New France in XVII and XVIII centuries, in authentic language. They bring you into the atmosphere and time like a movie, or a play would. An excellent history lesson for my 14 year old. It was fun, informative, and a little ghastly.

The Ghost walk was excellent. We had a large group (27), but our guide/actor did her best to be heard, and she stayed in character well. It was a warm and muggy night, but we got to see other parts of the city. You'll end up a bit of a ways from your starting point, so plan on that.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
