Montreal Food Tours. Enjoy Montreal's most delicious local food on a Montreal Tour through the Mile End district. The Mile-end is famed for it's gastronomical diversity. It also happens to be the best place to eat montreal food specialities and discover the fine products of Quebec's terroir. Private group tours are also available. The guided Food Tours include mouth-watering food samples, enough for a large lunch, from unique specialty food stores, local restaurants and ethnic eateries while providing a detailed insiders view of Montreal's most famous communities- their rich histories, treasured architecture, dazzling entertainment offerings and restaurant recommendations. Tours run 6 days a week between May and october. The earliest departure time leaves at 11am and depending on the tour will last between 2-3 hours.

My friend and I took the Mile End tour with Kim and absolutely loved it! It's probably the most food I've ever had on a food tour anywhere and it was all delicious. It was also great to get to know a new neighbourhood in Montreal. We went for the 10:30am tour and it was enough food to cover both... More

It was a great tour of old Montreal and good food places, we even went back. Our guide was a lot of fun and knew her stuff. Very much recommend this for anyone. Would not bring children on this.

It was a brilliant tour with Vera who enthusiastically showed us her city with different food stops which reflected Montreal's culture. Information about city and its history were thrown in. She showed great interest in her clients and was happy to share any information.

Our family of 5 took the tour with Christian. We had never been to this neighbourhood in Montreal. The food was excellent and abundant so go hungry! Christian shared the interesting history of the neighbourhood. We met some very lovely people on the tour. Great experience,

My family had a wonderful afternoon with Martine on the Mile End Food tour. The three hour tour was a great way to see a real neighborhood in Montreal and experience a lot of great food. One of our teenage daughters is a vegetarian and the other is pretty picky and both thought the food tour was the highlight of... More

Didn't know quite what to expect initially. But this turned out to be such fantastic way to sample some delicious foods, skip the lines, get a great tour of the city with knowledgeable and helpful guides, and really enjoy the experience without any pressure. 3 hours may seem like a lot, but time flew. The guides were amazing, so friendly,... More

This past weekend we did the Mile End Foor Tour with Darren as our guide. The whole experience was great. First- Darren the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. He took some time in the beginning of our tour to not only introduce himself, but for us to introduce ourselves as well so we knew who we would... More

We only had 24 hours in Montreal so decided to experience a snap shot of the local food. We were not disappointed. Sandy was a great guide who took us around six different venues in "Old Montreal". A great way to spend 3 hours.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
