I had a day on my own in Montreal before meeting family, so I decided to do the 3 hour guided bike tour. It was awesome. We covered alot of ground, the bikes are comfortable, the guide was really informative, and we stopped for bagels & cream cheese! Yum! It was a great way to see alot of Montreal that... More

Great bike daily tour of Montreal. With a really warm thoughtful guide. Really loved the tour even though the pace was fairly slow for all the riders.

We rented bikes for an hour for three people, for under $25 CAN and we all really had fun. The maps are good and they give good suggestions . Helpful staff. One hour was plenty to get a taste of the city along the canals. Nice way to enjoy the sights .

The guy helping was no more helpful than he had to be. He got my husband's bike, said he'd get mine. We waited about 10 minutes when the bike was already there - amidst many others he had brought out (I thought for a tour) - he just didn't bother to tell us. Also told us of only 1 route,... More

Hi. Thank you for your comments here. First, i am truly sorry that you were not satisfied with our services. My employees should have been more helpful with the remittance of your bikes. It appears that the waiting time could have been caused by the presence of another groupie were serving at the same time. I would like to investigate... More

I was the coordinator for a group of 10 senior riders from Cape Cod. The planning process with Montreal on Wheels was seamless and they arranged to have Michael as their guide for two 3-hour tours - Montreal Plus and Vista-architecture. All participants were delighted with Michael and got to see Montreal in the best possible way. Kudos to everyone... More

Our family took the Montreal Plus tour with Mike and it was a fantastic experience. We selected this tour specifically to get a good overview of the city and its history, and Mike did not disappoint! He was very knowledgeable overall, had extensive historical tidbits and personal touches to add, and was happy to answer all the group's questions. He... More

Our leader Carole did our tour effortlessly in French and English. Not real long on the history of Montreal, but a great ride by major sights and through interesting neighborhoods. Plus...we got to keep the bikes for the rest of the day at no extra charge. A great way to get oriented if it's your first time in Montreal. Be... More

We selected this place because they hired out bikes to children. You pay by the hour and if you take longer than three hours you pay for a full day rental. We paid CAN$100.27 (incl. tax) for two adult and one children's bike, three helmets, and lock and cable. You must leave photo ID and you pay on return. The... More

Ca Roule Montreal were very efficient and friendly. The equipment was extremely well maintained. We started the day with the 4 hour architecture and vista tour which was superb. The stop at the Atwater market for an edible treat was fun and our guide, Pam, was excellent. It is fairly flat (less the Jacques Cartier bridge approach) but there were... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
