Our leader Carole did our tour effortlessly in French and English. Not real long on the history of Montreal, but a great ride by major sights and through interesting neighborhoods. Plus...we got to keep the bikes for the rest of the day at no extra charge. A great way to get oriented if it's your first time in Montreal. Be... More

We selected this place because they hired out bikes to children. You pay by the hour and if you take longer than three hours you pay for a full day rental. We paid CAN$100.27 (incl. tax) for two adult and one children's bike, three helmets, and lock and cable. You must leave photo ID and you pay on return. The... More

Ca Roule Montreal were very efficient and friendly. The equipment was extremely well maintained. We started the day with the 4 hour architecture and vista tour which was superb. The stop at the Atwater market for an edible treat was fun and our guide, Pam, was excellent. It is fairly flat (less the Jacques Cartier bridge approach) but there were... More

I rented a touring bike (Opus Legato) and panniers for a week. They answered my (many) questions well in advance to prepare, fitted the bike to me on arrival and provided recommendations for me to have the tire checked after multiple flats on way to Quebec City (and I had no issues after that). They were generous in crediting all... More

We took a 4 hour tour of Montreal with Pam of this company. She was absolutely wonderful with lots of stories of growing up in Montreal. How it has changed or stayed the same. It's a fantastic opportunity to see how the city is laid out and what the different neighbourhoods are like.

Our group of four took the four hour city tour. The store divided a large group up into a small bike group of eight with a guide. Michelin was the perfect guide. She keep a nice pace making sure we were all together. Her extensive knowledge of the history and architecture of the city showed. She made it fun and... More

We scheduled our bike tour for our first full morning in Montreal and we were not disappointed! Pam, our guide, was a font of information about her beloved city. We took the four hour tour across to the islands and back across a tall bridge! Fun and informative.

We were in Montreal for a few days and wanted to tour the city on bikes one afternoon. We unfortunately did not reserve ahead of time but stopped by the Ca Roule Montreal shop and asked about same day rentals around noon. They said all bikes were booked but we could check back after 2 pm when a tour was... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
