We took the 4 hour bike tour which provided a good overview of the heart of the city. If you are an avid cyclist the pace might be a bit slow, but it is a comfortable and relaxing ride. Our tour guide was a native and since we had some French in our group we got to hear him give... More

DH and I rented bikes on last day in Montreal and are so glad we did. Staff at shop very friendly and helpful. Bikes in good shape--even DH who rides regularly at home and is very picky about his bikes was pleased. We got helmets and locks and a map and set off for Lachine Canal. Rode about 11 miles... More

Got the half day rental after 2pm. It was $30 / adult and this was great! We rode our bikes all over Montreal and rode to the islands with the Molsen Indy Racetrack / Casino as well as the Biosphere. Was a really cool experience and would not have seen it if we hadn't rented the bikes (the bike shop... More

I booked this tour with some friends who had never been to Montreal and it turned out to be just the right thing to do. I had been a few times previously, but going to a professional was much better than any intro to the city I could have given them. The guide did a wonderful job of pointing out... More

Loved the fact these guys are close to a very cyclist friendly area (the canal, the islands) so we, with little ones, didn't have to navigate busy downtown streets at all. Friendly, helpful attendants - it was a great deal and I'd recommend it - given the opportunity I'd love to do it again!! As documented below, there are tours... More

We were a bit unsure of the quality of road bikes / service we would get from a place that seemed to be in a very touristy area of Montreal, but we were very very wrong! The bikes were great! They took the time to measure and fit our bikes. And the bikes came with a flat tire kit and... More

An excellent introduction to Montreal. We thoroughly enjoyed our bike tour through the boroughs of Montreal with Carol St. Laurent and Emmanuel. The ride was not too strenuous, some hills. The limit of 15 riders is a bit too large. Good way to learn about neighborhoods and the true sense of Montreal.

I took the Vista Architecture Tour last week and it was fantastic! Our guide Carol was so informative and friendly! Her knowledge of Montreal went far beyond the facts of the tour and introduced us to aspects of the city that I knew nothing about. I was also able to keep my bike for the rest of the day and... Located in the Old Town, the place has an extensive range of bikes for sale and rentals. The service is very nice - they go out of their way to make sure one is safe and en route for some nice rides. Montreal must have one of the most extensive network of bike lanes and cars are very tolerant of... More

Pros: The bikes are in good condition and easy to ride. The staff and guide speak fluENT ENGLISH. They give you a semi frozen water bottle so it will stay cool for ride. Cons: the guide had a group of 13 and guide rode very quickly thus at least 4-5 people at any time were way behind group. This was... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
