The tour was decent enough. The captain was funny. The bus/boat could use some maintenance. It was a bit beat up and the back door/stairs had to be manually closed. It's a good tour to get a feel for Old Montreal and the Old Port. The reason for 3 stars is that the tour is billed as bilingual (English and... More

We did the fireworks tour and would do it again. This is one of the best ways to view the fireworks. You have a place to sit, a great view, and Champagne! Fred and Madeline the driver and tour guide were wonderful. Fred navigated tight traffic jams with skill and Madeline kept us entertained. Even when booking this tour and... More

This tour was great. Takes about an hour. Takes you on land for 1/2 the tour, then the bus goes into the water for the other 1/2 hour. My 12 year old son actually couldn't stop talking about it Capt. Fred and Philip were great tour guides. Highly recommended.

Great way to get your bearings quickly and at reasonable cost - appr 100 CAD total. Excellent captain, good lady guide, good interaction between both. We did it with 3 children aged 13, 11 and 6. Good activity to do with them. Super exciting the moment you drive into the water. Scary to get close to the incredibly fast flowing... More

We enjoyed it. My mom is a history buff so she wanted more details but I thought it was good. And the driver was awesome and the tour guide was awesome. Two thumbs up.

We took this tour on a cool morning, hoping to hear some history about old town and see sights we wouldn't be able to see otherwise. We weren't disappointed! The vehicles are refurbished from WWII, but still feel quite safe. We didn't get wet while entering the St. Lawrence, which was a plus, and the ride was barely bumpy. The... More

This tour is absolutely fantastic, the driver and the tour guide work well together and make the tour fun and entertaining, the highlight was when the "bus" went gliding into the water. I had a great time and learned a ton about Montreal, (they should teach this stuff in school) Thanks for a great tour!!!! Andrew

It was our second experience with this tour. Last year was great: we learned much about the old Montreal downtown history. I am a Quebecer and learned things about Montreal that I never knew. This time was much different. First, the P.A. system was defective. The “Captain” and a co-worker were working on it when we boarded, but, they could... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
