We went for a quick drink and ended up staying for hours because of the amazing hospitality of Rachel, who was so welcoming and helpful and made us feel right at home. The bar is beautiful and the happy hour deals are amazing. Definitely a good stop for r&r when you are shopping off of Ste Catherine or visiting the... More

We ate here on Sunday a week after the Grand Prix, when the whole street was filled with festivities. We nabbed a place on the 2nd floor balcony with a nice view of the street. The only quibble I have is that the small tables are packed very, closely together. Great for camaraderie, but more difficult for eating. I had... More

Okay so this place I have only visited during the day time, thus far. I was amazed at how many terraces this place had. Idyllic street with a seat overlooking the European style architecture? This is worth a stop. This was my first exposure to poutine, and I was not disappointed. I tried a bite of the wifes burger, she... More

This is my second visit to this place and it was as good as the time before. The food is good. The service is good. They have a nightclub downstairs which served $2.50 that evening.

We had lunch here on the 14th as it was walking distance from our hotel and it was a cold day. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich, served with fries and a brazilian coffee. She said she enjoyed her meal. I ordered the sliders, which were delicious. The ambiance was good, subtle and 80's music were playing in the background,... More

Sat at the bar for a couple hours and ran up a hefty drink tab. Between the two of us we had several different drinks and all of them were well mixed. Bartender "Marie-Eli"(sp?) was friendly, social & knowledgeable. Since we're from the states and have been seeing signs all over Montreal advertising "poutine", we ordered some. Fries w gravy... I asked for a drink and a glass of water. I got my drink and the bill altogether and I had to ask 3 times for that glass of water.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
