Inaugurated in 1992, the World Trade Centre occupies a full city block where Old Montréal and the Quartier international meet. Its modern architecture incorporates several historical buildings and a part of the old Ruelle des Fortifications. A portion of the Berlin wall offered to Montréal for its 350th anniversary, a majestic fountain, and the mural “Circulations” designed for the 20th anniversary of the Centre adorn the site. Connected to the underground pedestrian network, this veritable indoor village is covered with a massive glass skylight and houses shops, restaurants

Le Centre des Congres de Montreal (Montreal International Congress Center is located at the door of Old Montreal. This very modern building can receive more than 10 000 persons at the same time. The architecture is pretty unique and very colored.

We have visited the Centre de commerce mondial de Montréal countless times since it opened in 1992.

The Centre de commerce mondial de Montréal an fantastic multipurpose complex. It offers shopping, eating, offices, hotels and more.

The Centre de commerce mondial de Montréal spans an entire city block. It brings together several restored historic buildings. Its signature feature is the magnificent glass roof at its heart. Covering the former ruelle des Fortifications, this spectacular atrium provides respite from the hot summers and the cold winters.

Seating is available here and there throughout the atrium. One feature of the atrium is an 18th-century stone fountain and a reflecting pool. (Traveller's tip: impress your friends by telling them that the stone fountain is topped by a statue of Amphitrite, the wife of Poseidon and the goddess of the sea in Greek mythology.)

Traveller's trip: Be sure to visit the piece of the Berlin Wall at the eastern end of the atrium.

From time to time, exhibitions are held in this space. At Christmastime, the young and young and heart can enjoy the various iterations of Santa Claus/Father Christmas on display.

The Centre de commerce mondial de Montréal is connected to Montreal's underground city (RÉSO).

Traveller's tip: Public toilets are available in the southwest corner of the food court.

We came here to see the piece of the Berlin Wall that was gifted to the city of Montreal in 1992 to commemorate the city's 350th birthday. It is located on the ground level of the building, where you will also find a food court, coffee shops, and a collection of boutique shops.

More than one entry to this mix of old & new, be sure to see the exterior & interior from all. Such soaring height & light inside especially on the central section of all floors.
The Reflection Pool with its Fountain of Aphrodite. Many eateries, services & businesses. An unexpected item of interest is the remains of a concrete bunker from the Berlin Wall donated by Berlin for Montreal's 350th anniversary.
Visit upstairs in the old Nordheimer building for some amusing scenes.
This place is stunning!

Very modern complex, and often very crowded. It is perhaps nice to visit on a rainy day to kill some time.

I've known this place since my childhood. I've seen rise into construction, one of my parents worked there, and it was always a place I liked to go. The fountains are great. There is noce shops, nice bistro like restaurant... and the window ceiling! wow! Truly amazing!

Dropped by briefly to see the Berlin Wall piece that is there.

Foodcourt looked alright - a lot less busy than in the Eaton Centre & even in the Reso ( underground city)

Would only recommend if you wanted to see the Berlin Wall, need a public bathroom, or a quick lunch.

Bonus - you are walking distance from old montreal.

A beautiful complex! Perfect spot to duck into on a hot or cold day. There is a remnant of the Berlin Wall and a 17th century fountain.
