The view out the Charlottetown harbour is second to none from here. the locals use the boardwalk as a daily place to walk, and it is busy year round. I have a soft spot for this spot on the boardwalk, my husband proposed to me here 20 years ago.

we saw this on the double decker hippo bus tour. We would have missed it otherwise. Was very interesting to know that the cannons have never been shot and that PEI was only invaded once and they kidnapped an official and stole a seal which has never been returned. beautiful place for a walk. there is also a playground nearby

If you've seen one old cannon, you've pretty well seen them all, so don't go to Victoria Park just to see the Battery. However, the park offers a very nice view of the city, and lots of parking nearby. It's opposite to the entrance to Charlottetown Harbour and a great place for pictures. And if you're with youngsters, or alone... More

I am lucky enough to live within walking distance, and take it for granted. Lovely park, great boardwalk, good views, no admission fee, easy to park, what's not to like about it!

This is an awesome place to see where they fought to save PEI from the French and what the cannons were like they used. Where you can take reenactment photos minus the military suits of that era. This can be done along the way on your walk on the boardwalk in Victoria Park.

The waterfront stroll is a very nice way to walk off a big breakfast. It's a 6.4 km stroll. God help you though if you end up needing a restroom after Labor Day. I was amazed to find no facilities. Got to see some wooded area therefore to take care of business. Not even a portable toilet in sight-yet folks... More

Wow, there is a lot to read and it is in English and French. The info on the boards is neatly organized and it felt like a mini museum. Nice place to stop at while walking along the water or enjoying a day at the park.

A genuine piece of the past and a must see for history buffs. While not something that would be regarded as "exciting" it is a pretty "cool" and interesting spot for a 15 - 20 minute visit. Great photo ops. Lots of memories made here. Almost every family in Charlottetown has old photos of children on the cannons taken at... More

So there were a handful of cannons off the boardwalk by the shore in Victoria park. Some of the earlier reviews seem to match what I saw/did, while others seem to describe a completely different place. I'm so confused. Anyway, a lot of bilingual placards describing the military context, and well worth a few minutes while strolling the boardwalk. If... More
